Episode 45 – Level Four Energy: The Heart of Service

There’s a fine line between caring and controlling, and sometimes the reason we give so much isn’t just because we care. It’s because we want to feel seen, valued, or validated in return.

In this week’s episode of the I Am Self-ish™ Podcast, I explore Level Four Energy—the heart of service. It’s the space where we finally feel like we’re making a difference, but it’s also where our empathy can quietly turn into exhaustion if we’re not careful.

We talk about how boundaries don’t push people away—they protect the love behind your empathy. Because compassion without limits leads to burnout, and love without boundaries eventually breaks the person who’s always giving it.

This episode is a reminder that self-care isn’t selfish. It’s how we sustain our ability to love, serve, and connect without losing ourselves in the process.

Episode 44 – Better After Baby | I AM SELF-ISH™ Podcast

Motherhood changes everything — but rediscovery doesn’t mean losing yourself. It means coming home to who you are now.

In this week’s episode, I sit down with Tori Whitaker, founder of Better After Baby and a motherhood identity coach helping moms rebuild strength, confidence, and self-trust at every stage postpartum.

From collegiate gymnast and top-performing Equinox trainer to single mom and entrepreneur, Tori shares how she turned her own evolution into a mission to help other women thrive beyond survival mode. Together, we unpack the mindset shifts that move moms from exhaustion to empowerment, explore the myth of “balance,” and talk about how boundaries actually create freedom. We also dive into why self-care isn’t selfish—it’s a strategy for deeper connection.

Tori’s message is powerful: motherhood isn’t an either/or story. It’s AND. You can be a mom and ambitious. Nurturing and driven. Whole, capable, and—yes—better after baby. Because putting yourself first is how you show up stronger for everyone else.

New Episode Alert: The Illusion of Control ✨

Most of us have learned how to manage our emotions—keep it together, stay composed, stay rational. But here’s the truth: management isn’t the same as healing.

In Episode 43 of the I AM SELF-ISH™ Podcast, I explore Level Three Energy—the space where coping feels like control, and calm can quietly mask unprocessed pain.

At this level, understanding replaces healing. Composure replaces connection. And while it might look like peace on the outside, it often feels like numbness on the inside.

This conversation dives deep into what happens when emotional control becomes a comfort zone—and how to move beyond coping into conscious healing, where awareness and vulnerability meet growth.

Because true resilience isn’t found in bypassing pain—it’s found in facing it with compassion and courage.

Episode 42 – When I Cry | The I AM SELF-ISH™ Podcast-https://iamself-ish.com/podcast

Crying doesn’t mean you’re falling apart—it means something inside you is finally being released.

In this episode, I explore why tears aren’t a sign of weakness, but a sign of truth. They carry messages our words can’t always express—relief, honesty, and healing.

For years, I saw crying as something to control or hide. But what I’ve learned is that every tear is a reset button for the soul. It’s emotional hygiene—clearing the clutter so we can see ourselves clearly again.

Crying reconnects us to what matters most.
It restores balance.
It teaches compassion.

This episode is your reminder that vulnerability is courage—not shame. And that giving yourself permission to cry is one of the most powerful ways to reconnect with your authentic self.

New Episode 41 – Boundaries of Love & Growth

Boundaries aren’t barriers—they’re bridges to deeper connection.

That’s the heart of my latest I AM SELF-ISH™ conversation with psychotherapist Kelly Zemer. Together, we explored how self-love, boundaries, and growth are all intertwined—and how often the stories we’ve been told about love, masculinity, and strength get in the way of who we’re truly meant to be.

Kelly shared her journey as a therapist and how understanding our emotional landscapes helps us heal, rebuild, and reconnect with ourselves. We talked about the role of self-care in recovery, what healthy boundaries really look like, and why open communication is the foundation for honest relationships.

And somewhere between talking about healing and fairy tales, we found ourselves rewriting Cinderella—not as a story of rescue, but as a story of self-empowerment and autonomy.

This episode is a reminder that true self-love begins with awareness, honesty, and the courage to care for yourself first.

💭 How have your boundaries helped you grow—not pull away?

Today, I’m giving myself permission to choose me — not out of selfishness, but out of self-prioritization.
Because true growth begins when we recognize that we matter too.

Choosing yourself isn’t about ignoring others. It’s about showing up for yourself first, so you can show up better for everything and everyone else.

Growth requires space, energy, and intention. And that starts with giving yourself permission to take the lead in your own life.
