The Young Professionals Group of the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation

The Young Professionals Group of the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation The group consists of highly motivated young professionals who are familiar with and sensitive to the survivor community.

The mission of Children's Brain Tumor Foundation is to improve the treatment, quality of life, and long-term outlook for children with brain and spinal cord tumors through research, support, education, and advocacy to families and survivors. Although their primary goal is not to raise money, they do participate in the coordination of one fundraising activity. Throughout the year, CBTF also has family events. The YPG group is instrumental in both the behind the scenes activity coordination and volunteers the day of the event in a variety of capacities. Email ypg@cbtf.org to get on our mailing list. Tonight, CBTF survivors and our Young Professionals Group (YPG) came together to discuss job challenges, exchange tips about interviewing and networking, and overall share experiences which are important to young job seekers.

YPG is a group of established, young adult professionals who serve as mentors to brain tumor survivors as they navigate job searching after life with a brain tumor.

"I have been involved with CBTF since 2007 when I volunteered at an event for children during my senior year in college. I was so amazed by the strength and resilience of the children going through a brain tumor diagnosis and was especially inspired by the young adults survivors I had met. As an 11 year brain tumor survivor myself, I knew first hand about the struggles these survivors faced.

I was asked by CBTF to head up the Young Professionals Group and organize volunteer and fundraising events in NYC.

In 2009 I had the honor of joining the board of directors of CBTF and having a meaningful impact on the strategy and vision the Foundation takes in support of the families we serve.

CBTF has been a big part of my life over the last 10 years and I am honored to use my experience and expertise in support of such an amazing organization."

Akiva Zablocki, thank you for your dedication to and for sharing why you are !

From New York to Boston to Los Angeles and Jerusalem, everyone around the world we consulted had a different approach,…

Anyone know anyone?

Idan needs your help getting to Seattle! Anyone have access to a private jet or know anyone that does? We were supposed to fly through Corporate Angels to Seattle because of his severe immune deficiency, but that fell through (and Angle Flight is not an options). Our first appointment in Seattle is September 24th (Tuesday). The owner of the Jet would be able to donate the flight through Corporate Angels for a tax deduction. Please Like and Share this post! Thanks ! See www.youcaring.com/fundraiseforidan for Idan's story.
