Thank you to and for including me in this piece on the fashion world’s hottest new (and edible) accessory: the David bar. As a body contouring surgeon on his own GLP-1 journey, I try to practice what I preach in terms of eating right. Ensuring that you’re eating enough protein is of utmost importance for a variety of reasons, including post-procedure recovery. Boasting 28 grams of protein and just 150 calories, the David Bar has become a favorite.

Exparel: the “mommy makeover” recovery hack. Exparel is a long-acting injectable pain medication that is placed into the abdominal muscle sheath and in incision lines during surgery. It helps control discomfort for 2–3 days after your procedure, making recovery more manageable and promoting early mobility. The benefit of early mobility? Safety. It dramatically reduces your risk of a post-op blood clot.

Thank you to and for this fun piece highlighting the impact of GLP-1s on Thanksgiving this year.

The punchline is: everyone is downsizing. From a spike in patients electing body contouring procedures in the name of recovering over Thanksgiving, to my personal downsizing of the traditional holiday meal, GLP-1s have changed the landscape of Thanksgiving for years to come.

Cheers to looking and feeling our best this holiday season and happy Thanksgiving to all.

Are you a candidate for minimally invasive skin tightening? Technologies like Renuvion (J-Plasma) and BodyTite can help improve cases of mild to moderate skin laxity. These are both radiofrequency-based devices that use RF energy to generate heat and tighten tissue. The important distinction is that Renuvion, or J-Plasma, is unipolar, while BodyTite is bipolar radiofrequency energy. Watch this video for a breakdown of how each device works—and which one we prefer to use in our practice.

Myth Busters Time: Do you need to replace your breast implants every 10 years? In older data, we’ve found that on average, breast implants tend to last about 10 years. After they’ve been in your body for that amount of time, maybe they ruptured or maybe there’s been a contracture issue, or for whatever reason, you’ve had a problem. But if there is no problem with your implant, there is absolutely no reason that you need to have surgery and have your implants exchanged at the 10-year mark. The FDA recommends that you have regular screening every few years by either ultrasound or MRI to look for a silent rupture.
