2023 was packed with everything from sales and purchases of multi family buildings for investors to the sale of single family homes going back many generations. We, gutted, redesigned, renovated and staged homes, moved across the country and event nextdoor. Friends of friends referred me to help their friends and through it all we on some spectacular properties.

For the Kevin fans out there…🐕

KEVIN is gonna be OK! *But please consider this a public service announcement for dog owners.

A few months ago Kevin had oral surgery to remove the majority of his teeth. Chihuahuas typically have poor oral hygiene 😬. He responded well and healed up with the support of the “cone of shame”. Kevin lost a few pounds but quickly rebounded and learned to use the 3 remaining teeth (awesome band name right?) to consume his delicious meals and treats. Kevin has always been food motivated. 🍔🌭🌮🍕🍖🥓🥞

One day we noticed Kevin behaving differently. He was lethargic, cranky, and over the next few days lost all interest in food. When I was eating delicious food, he turned his back on me! Something was very wrong.

Kevin made a trip back to the vet. Blood tests showed “elevated levels” and dehydration. I have a feeling this would be my results too… He was rehydrated with barely an impact. We were advised to have an ultrasound to see if he had anything blocking him up. 😳

Ultrasound showed a blockage of some kind most likely a mass, maybe cancer. Maybe not. Next steps were to get him rehydrated again, then do an endoscope to “see” 👀 what the mass was. This was looking like cancer and $$$$$$$$$$. 💰

Poor little guy was so unhappy and so were we. I received a call from the Dr. letting me know they could now see the mass and the good news was it was not looking like any Cancer. 😭It was attached to his stomach so they needed a better look… then as we were chatting she said “we can see it. It’s NOT cancer. He may need surgery to remove it but it’s NOT cancer.”

Ok. I can relax a little now. What is it? What has my poor little guy got going on? He’s been suffering for a few weeks now and all I know is we just want him to be ok and ……WHAT?!? WHAT THE F*CK are you kidding me?!? 😫

“IT IS A RAW POTATO. We just removed it”

Key learnings:
“NO TEETH = NO CHEWING= WHOLE RAW POTATO = $$$$$.
