The American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification, Inc.

ABPANC provides CPAN® and CAPA® Certification for perianesthesia nurses.

CPAN stands for Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse and CAPA stands for Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse. These certifications are designed for registered nurses caring for patients who have experienced sedation, analgesia and anesthesia.

If you were Certified for the first time between January-April 2023, or last Recertified by April 30, 2023, you are due for Recertification! Access your Recertification application through Learning Builder at any time - now is a great time to review any credit that you've already entered and determine if you need anything else to complete your 2026 Recertification. Submit your application for Recertification starting January 1, 2026!
