I wasn’t going to post this calming corner, because we don’t live in a million dollar home, it hasnt been renovated, we rent and it’s an older home.
Even though I personally absolutely adore it and I have no idea how I’ll ever say goodbye to it when the time comes, even after basically being homeless searching for a home for months and living in airbnbs with our stuff in storage! Fear of judgement online for this not being a new house with a custom closet or an entire room just perfectly curated, was holding me back!

Seeing the excitement my 5 year old had and how many times she said she loved it, just sitting in awe of this space we created together, the number of times she hugged me saying thank you, even begging me to let her sleep in there! 😂
She completely changed my perspective, and reminded me that it’s not about how much you spend or how perfectly curated something is! She isnt comparing her space to anyone’s, shes loving it and living her best life!

I’m forever grateful for the opportunities I have to do “projects” like this with my kids and our closet might be full of mix matched hangers, old carpets and wire shelves, but to my 5 year old, it’s more than she ever imagined and I think the majority of people don’t actually have custom closets and million dollar homes and if they do then that is great for them, but most are doing the best they can with what they have and for where we are in life and where we live this is a special room that im really happy to share! ❤️❤️

In a brand new study, researchers found that women who wore rose essential oil on their clothing for just 30 days had significant increases in gray matter volume across the whole brain on MRI scans.

When the aromatic molecules of rose essential oil are inhaled, they travel through the olfactory system to the brain’s limbic system, which governs emotions and memories.

The posterior cingulate cortex (PCC) is particularly responsive to the rose scent. The researchers suggest that the sustained exposure of the PCC to the rose scent leads to continuous processing and memory storage related to the scent, leading to an increase in gray matter volume.

This process of sustained scent exposure also appears to engage and stimulate memory-related neural pathways, driving neuroplasticity and positive structural brain changes.

Increased gray matter is associated with enhanced cognitive function (memory, learning and executive functions), better emotional regulation, reduced risk of neurodegenerative diseases, reduced stress and anxiety and improved overall mental health.
