đŸ€©It’s been a while and I noticed there are a lot of new followers here so I wanted to personally introduce myself.

I’m Lisa Goldberg, Nutritionist and Weight Loss Coach. Unlike most other Nutritionists and weight loss coaches, I focus on more than just changing the food you eat.

My approach to weight loss focuses on changing the habits and behaviors that caused you to gain the weight in the first place. ‘Diet culture’ has you believing that you have to cut out every unhealthy food you love in order to lose weight
but that’s EXACTLY what’s causing you to struggle for decades.

I know that if you want to get off of the diet-rollercoaster for good this time, we need to identify the root cause behind your self-sabotaging patterns so that we can change those patterns for good!

I do that through using various tools and systems, so that you have a skillset that will help you succeed in the long term so you can end emotional eating and keep the weight off!

😖I remember being overweight and hating how I felt in my body. Even though I tried to change what I was eating, the weight wouldn’t budge.

I was using food emotionally and didn’t even realize it. Restricting my food made it even worse.

It wasn’t until I realized that the habits and behaviors I was engaging in were learned and had nothing to do with changing what I was eating.

I was able to lose over 20 pounds once I learned how to master my emotions and build new ways of thinking that had NOTHING to do with restricting my food.

I know you’ve heard the quote, “You can’t solve a problem with the same mindset that created it,” this is why so many women still struggle and can’t lose weight even after changing what they eat.

Your emotional eating has nothing to do with food, and everything to do with ingrained habits and patterns that have helped you cope.

You don’t lose control with food if you mindfully choose to indulge. It’s restricting that causes emotional eating. It’s the feeling of deprivation, followed by the guilt and the shame. When food feels forbidden and scarce, you want it more. When it feels like your last chance, you believe you have to get it all in now. That’s not a lack of discipline. That’s your nervous system responding to perceive deprivation. You can eat food to love without spiraling but first you have to break the pattern that taught you to use food as comfort, relief, and rebellion. Emotional eating isn’t a failure of willpower or discipline; it’s a learned response triggered by restriction, dieting, stress, overwhelm, and emotion.

The good news is, any skill or habit you learn can be unlearned, even if you tried everything!

My guess is you’ve tried to change what you eat or restrict even more when you emotionally eat, but that will just keep you stuck in the same vicious cycle.

You need to learn a new skillset to overcome emotional eating; one that focuses on the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

It was then that I discovered that diets only work for the short-term.
