I am currently studying a traditional holistic offering of Therapeutic Yoga with Guta Hedewig of the Yoga School New York in the lineage of T. Krishnamacharya, the 'Grandfather of Modern Yoga', and TKV Desikachar, son of Krishnamacharya and founder of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, South India. I also offer Reiki, a form of vibrational healing developed in early twentieth-century Japan, involving the light laying of hands, restoring balance to body, mind, and spirit. I received my training, transmission, and initiation of first and second-degree Reiki in 2015. I have been practicing Self-Reiki every day since my transmission and initiation, and I have found it to be extremely supportive, easy, and transformational. I would consider it an honor to share this with you if you want to add another layer of observation to your practice. Shared with Public

GusGus offering incense at Kojin-an Zen Center. Kojin-an means “Good People Hermitage”, and that is. GusGus loves to go on Sunday mornings for shikantaza or “just sitting”, which emphasizes the return of proper posture, breath, and awareness moment by moment. ⁣

The incense used in ancient Japanese Buddhist rituals was at first a mixture of five to seven chipped aromatic materials, such as jinkoh, sandalwood, cloves, cinnamon, and camphor. The amount and combination of these materials varied slightly depending on the Buddhist sect. ⁣⁣

Although incense was also burned for pleasure, the Japanese have long associated it with Buddhist rituals. Fragrance was believed to help invoke the Buddha’s presence and summon forth his peaceful world. ⁣⁣

Took GusGus to see his grandparents today. They are together again now. He could tell I was sad. He gave me good insight of the moment. He told me, “I know it’s sad that they are gone, but they are forever in your heart. They are forever in our hearts. Somos familia.” Thank you, GusGus, for being my son.
