DanceGiving: Joy, Connection & the Spark We All Need💕

This season is often portrayed as joyful — yet for so many, it also brings up loneliness, distance from family, unmet goals, transitions, or the quiet ache of wanting life to feel different than it does.

Maybe that’s why last Sunday’s DanceGiving felt so meaningful✨

Over 40 of us gathered in Troy to ground, move, release, and remember what it feels like to reconnect with ourselves.
Qigong blended with ecstatic dance, guided by sound journey — and together we created a space where joy wasn’t something we had to “perform,” but something that naturally emerged as we breathed and moved as a community.

In a time of year that can feel heavy or overwhelming, these moments remind us that joy can be rebuilt… one breath, one beat, one gathering at a time.

We are so grateful for everyone who showed up, shared their energy, and allowed themselves to simply be.
And I’m grateful for these gatherings — spaces where we can soften, reconnect, and feel supported.

Self-appreciation.
Real, honest self-love.❤️

You can exercise, eat clean, sleep well, do all the “right” things…
and still feel like something is missing.

What I’ve seen over and over—
in my clients and in my own journey—
is that women who invest the most in their health
are often the hardest on themselves.

This holiday season, we’re expressing gratitude for everyone and everything around us…

But what about gratitude for yourself?
For your body that keeps going.
For your heart that keeps showing up.

✨ What happens when you mix ancient wisdom with modern movement?
You get Qi Awakening. 🌿🎶🧘

For me, movement has always been medicine.
💃 Dance was my stress relief—the place where I felt free, alive, and at home in my body.

Then came my accident. I lost that outlet, but not the love. I eventually found my way back through qigong, tai chi, and yoga.

My first qigong teacher introduced me to spontaneous qigong—a practice of listening to your own energy and letting it move you. It felt just like ecstatic dance: expressive, healing, and powerful.

Fast forward to this summer → I met DJ Isha , an incredible wellness facilitator. We teamed up to create something new:
🌿 Qigong → awaken the body
🎶 Ecstatic Dance → release stress, reconnect with joy
🧘 Meditation → restore calm + focus

That’s how Qi Awakening was born.
And the response? Pure magic. ✨

Wellness doesn’t have to be rigid. When we blend practices, we open doors for people to heal, energize, and thrive in new ways.

Feeling off, sluggish & sad lately 😬✨?

🍂 Your body changes with the seasons — and so should your diet.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Autumn is associated with Lungs and Large Intestine — organs that help us release what we no longer need and strengthen our defenses. 🌬️

To stay balanced this season:

🥣 Warm your meals — skip cold salads and go for soups, stews, and steamed veggies.
Think pumpkin, sweet potato, cauliflower, leeks, and carrots.

🍐 Moisten your lungs — add pears, apples, honey, sesame, walnuts, rice, and spinach.
These nourish body fluids and soothe dryness in the throat, skin, and sinuses.

🍋 Add a touch of sour — pickles, lemon, yogurt, or sauerkraut help preserve moisture and support detox.

🌶️ Spice gently — ginger, cinnamon, garlic, and onions warm the body and boost Qi circulation when temps drop.

🚫 Avoid heavy, greasy, or cold dairy foods that create phlegm and sluggishness.
