✨Transformation Tuesday ✨
This is such a great example of teamwork between the dentist, orthodontist, and surgeon!

We started with braces to fix the patient’s crossbite and to get the front teeth into the right position. Some patients with jaw differences have teeth that hide the real bite problem, so the braces help reveal the true underbite before surgery.

Next, the patient had double jaw surgery moving both the upper and lower jaw, plus a little chin adjustment. The result? A balanced face and a healthy, functional bite.

We finished with a few more months of braces to perfect the smile, and added beautiful cosmetic work for missing teeth.

Then & Now: Dr. Dayan’s Full Circle Moment.
Fun fact: Dr. Dayan grew up right on the streets of Kings Highway the very same place where he practices today! It’s funny how life has a way of coming full circle. From Brooklyn to Cornell, University of Penn, and last but not least, the University at Buffalo all roads eventually led him back home to Kings Highway, right where he was always meant to be. Sometimes life puts us through things that are tough, and we don’t always know the reasons. But when we come out on the other side, we realize those moments were shaping us into the person we were always meant to be. If I could tell that boy from Kings Highway one thing today, it would be "One day you’ll be back here and you’ll be right back where you were always meant to be. Thank you for not giving up.

✨ Transformation Tuesday ✨

This beautiful smile was quite the journey! Our patient transferred to us after her previous orthodontist had extracted asymmetrically by the cuspids on her left side only. This made things tricky, but we were determined to achieve harmony without any additional extractions, preserving her soft tissue balance and natural facial proportions.

We removed the old twin brackets and rebonded with self-ligating brackets, carefully unraveling the crowding while using elastics to keep her midline as centered as possible.

Once her bite and midline were stabilized, we focused on the micro-aesthetics refining details, closing black triangles, and enhancing her natural gingival display. The result? A stunning, balanced smile that perfectly highlights the harmony between pink and white tissues.

Beautiful, confident, and completely worth the challenge!

✨Transformation Tuesday✨

This transformation is such a beautiful example of teamwork between orthodontics and jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery)! The result isn’t just a straighter smile it’s a complete facial transformation.

When our patient first came to us, she had a deep bite and severe overjet (meaning her top teeth and jaw were much farther forward than her bottom teeth). This caused wear and small notches near the gum line of her teeth.

We worked closely with our surgical team to plan her treatment. Instead of fully correcting her deep bite with braces first, we allowed room for surgery to bring her lower jaw forward and slightly downward which helped lengthen her lower face and improve her facial balance and profile.

• The mentolabial sulcus (the curve where the lip meets the chin) changed from acute to more open and natural
• The smile line changed from flat to beautifully curved
• And there’s a visible increase in her lower face height, creating softer, more balanced proportions

This transformation goes beyond straightening teeth it’s about restoring balance, function, and confidence.
