The Class

The Class A music-driven somatic method where we exercise the body to engage the mind and open the heart. Founded by Taryn Toomey
(1)

The practice is mat-based and music-driven. We repeat one move per song to create sensation in the body and observe our thoughts. In any given Class students can expect guided instruction and a carefully curated playlist to lead them through exercises they are familiar with such as—squats, jumping jacks, and burpees. The result is a mental clearing and emotional release. Through continued practice, students develop tools to empower their life, along with an incredibly strong, resilient, body.

The Tower reminds us that sudden change isn’t here to punish, it’s here to liberate. What falls away was never meant to stay.

Disruption clears space for truth, clarity, and alignment. Even when it feels chaotic, something more honest is being built. Sometimes the breakdown is the breakthrough. What are you being asked to release so something stronger can rise? Take what resonates. Leave the rest.

Sometimes the signs only show up when there’s a pause.

A moment to look around, take it in, and breathe. Small reminders that there’s guidance everywhere. All you have to do is notice.

Making noise isn’t new.
But today just reminds us to keep going. Louder. Wilder. And most importantly, together.

What we suppress doesn’t disappear. It lingers in the body, waits in the breath, and hums beneath the surface.

The work isn’t to push it down, but to let it pass through.

The March Full Moon rises with an edge of clarity, illuminating what’s ready to be refined, released, and reimagined. Under its light, and amplified by the eclipse, we’re invited to clear space with intention and choose what we want to grow next.

What habit, commitment, or pattern is ready to be composted so something more aligned can take root? If change feels confronting, what small, practical step would make it feel possible?

A refusal to overextend.
A commitment to reciprocity.
June Jordan reminding us that devotion is earned, not extracted.

And that self-respect can be a resolution, too.

This month in The Orbit, we sat down with entrepreneur, advocate, and community-builder , a visionary redefining what leadership looks like for women.

We talked about the emotional architecture of leadership, the daily turbulence Black female founders navigate, and how a somatic practice can ripple through every layer of our lives. Find the full conversation in your inbox this month’s Orbit, or sign up for our March edition.

explains why repeated movement helps build heat in the body so the mind can’t outrun the moment.

When we stay with the same action again and again, we move past performance and into presence. Patterns surface. Resistance speaks. Energy shifts.

The repetition is the point. It’s where endurance becomes awareness, and awareness becomes release.

What’s inspiring us today: Robert Smithson’s Spiral Jetty is a site specific work located on the northeastern shore of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. Built in April 1970, the piece forms a counterclockwise spiral stretching 1,500 feet long and 15 feet wide, inviting viewers to walk its curves out into the water when levels are low.

And sometimes, the lake rises and the entire spiral disappears beneath the surface. What feels monumental becomes hidden. What feels solid becomes submerged. Smithson welcomed this rhythm. The work is not fixed. It is in conversation with salt, tide, erosion, time. It gathers crystals. It breaks down. It reemerges altered.

The spiral is not a straight line toward somewhere else. It turns back on itself. It widens slowly. It asks you to keep walking even when you cannot see the full shape from where you stand.

As you look at these images, we invite you to consider:

What in your life is moving in a spiral rather than a straight line? What parts of you are submerged right now, quietly becoming something new? What would it mean to trust transformation that is gradual, tidal, and unfinished?
