The Class

The Class A music-driven somatic method where we exercise the body to engage the mind and open the heart. Founded by Taryn Toomey

The practice is mat-based and music-driven. We repeat one move per song to create sensation in the body and observe our thoughts. In any given Class students can expect guided instruction and a carefully curated playlist to lead them through exercises they are familiar with such as—squats, jumping jacks, and burpees. The result is a mental clearing and emotional release. Through continued practice, students develop tools to empower their life, along with an incredibly strong, resilient, body.

We loved listening to and .therapy explain how somatic movement helps you actually feel stress and emotion, giving your body a chance to release what your mind has been looping on.

The Class reinforces this by using breath, repetition, and sound to regulate the nervous system in real time.

And that regulation help create the internal space CBT needs to interrupt old patterns and choose a new response.

What is The Class?

The Class by Taryn Toomey is a practice of self study through physical conditioning. Through simple, repetitive calisthenics and plyometrics, participants challenge the body to engage the mind. With guided instruction and powerful music, The Class invites students to witness their resistance to discomfort. The result is an expansive, heart-clearing and body-strengthening release. This music-driven, mat-based Class will challenge and enlighten you all while building an incredibly strong, lean, resilient body. You will learn tools to empower your life.
