On my way to teach a tea making workshop today, I had the unexpected delight of seeing the lovely Santiago, Josephina and Sophia start making Mate on the train!

It all started with the loose leaf Yerbe Mate at 96th Street. Then, they poured on the boiling water by the time we reached 86th… and were happily sipping their beverage by the time 79th Street passed us by!🤣.

To them, it was the most natural thing to do on a train, and something that would be quite common in their home country of Argentina, (apparently).

To me, it was one of those unique New York moments that just makes me smile especially as I was about to do the same activity, but in a conference room!:)

Super grateful that someone else was snapping the pictures at last week’s Art of Herbal Tea class!

Thanks for the photos and talented NYBG resident photographer .photography for doing all the heavy photographic lifting at the workshop! ….It’s all Marlon’s work until the start of the video clips and then the amateurs stepped in!:)
