The Strand Optical Department was established in January 2015, to provide prescription eyewear to the patients of the Strand Pharmacy, one the oldest pharmacies in Astoria Queens. Due to the shared space, kiosk style model of this optical, we are able to offer high quality multifocals, single vision lens and products like Varilux, Transitions and Crizal, for prices far below traditional optical stores. As the Strand pharmacy customers told friend’s and family about the terrific value found in the optical, the secret quickly came out, and we have become a destination for customers outside the pharmacy, seeking high quality eyewear.

In 2017 we partnered with Smart Vision labs, a cutting edge technology company. Smart Vision Labs developed a tool called SVone, a new technology that can deliver your glasses and contact lens prescription, using a simple and highly accurate test that only takes about five minutes! The best part is the test is thirty five dollars for glasses and forty five dollars for contact lens updates!
