March is Social Work Month! We are grateful for not only the important work that our social workers here at The Woodlands do, but the work that our community as a whole does within this field! There are so many places in which social workers are doing work that matters, and there are many roles that social workers fulfill. Social workers support, advocate, empower, educate, intervene, defend, challenge, connect, and empathize. Social workers walk beside those they serve, all while holding space for difficult emotions and experiences, and providing hope and perspective.
Thank you social workers!

As we begin Social Work Month today, the National Association of Social Workers Ohio Chapter proudly recognizes the dedication, compassion, and resilience of social workers across our state. Every day, you support individuals and families, strengthen communities, and advocate for more just and equitable systems- often in ways that go unseen but have lasting impact. Thank you for the expertise, heart, and commitment you bring to this profession and to the people of Ohio.

Thank you Licking County Foundation for another great capacity building workshop!

Yesterday our Center for New Beginnings Victim Advocate Taylor Angrisano attended Advocacy Day 2026 hosted by The Ohio Domestic Violence Network. She met with State Representative Thad Claggett and State Representative Kevin Miller to discuss domestic violence in Ohio and what we see in our local community. ODVN Advocacy Day is an annual event in which domestic violence professionals gather and meet with state law makers to educate and advocate for efforts and policies which strengthen and support Ohio's response to domestic violence. We are proud of the way that Taylor represents our community and advocates for survivors!
