This is a critical time to help the Food Pantry Network of Licking County if you are able to!

We are continuing our work to build healthy neighborhoods with access to nutritious food. This community has supported us through hard times before, and that is what gives us hope today.

If you can, please support us and our mission to assure no one goes hungry in Licking County! Consider hosting a fundraiser or food drive, by inviting your friends and family to join us in this fight against hunger. Together, we can fill every plate!

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our former colleague Lou Gilliland. Lou began working at The Woodlands in 1997 and was a dedicated part of our team until her retirement in 2023. She began her Woodlands career in finance, and helped run Bingo, but what she was most well-known for was her time as our receptionist. For many years, Lou was the welcoming voice on the phone when folks would call seeking services and resources. Lou was the first face people would see when they would show up for appointments, anxious at first, but quickly reassured by Lou's warmth and friendliness. Lou was patient, kind, steady, and a great listener. It did not matter how busy she was, she would make time for you for as long as you needed. Clients looked forward to chatting with her when checking in, and when she took a day off, they would often ask where she was. To know Lou, was to love her. We miss her deeply here at The Woodlands. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time ❤️

Please consider voting yes this November 4th on The Mental Health and Recovery Levy! This is not a new tax, but is a renewal of an existing one that is critical to our services remaining available to our community. The Center For New Beginnings depends on this levy to continue providing shelter, resources, and a 24/7 crisis hotline for adult and children survivors of domestic violence. Our outpatient trauma focused mental health therapy, as well as our school based dating violence prevention programming, depends on this levy. We all know someone that is struggling. Vote yes for your neighbor, your friend, your colleague, your family, and for yourself. Our community deserves access to quality and compassionate care, which is sustained by this levy.

10/15 UPDATE: We've reached our current capacity and have paused taking applications. Please continue to watch our posts for updates. The Salvation Army is taking walk in applications Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, through October 30, from 9:00-12:00 & 1:00-3:00. They are only serving children up to age 14.

In the past we have partnered with The Salvation Army to provide Christmas gift assistance. This year we've decided to take our own applications to help lighten their workload and to serve children 17 years old and younger.
