Do you want to quit smoking in the New Year? Attempts to give up a to***co habit require planning and support, which is why Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) offers the free Quit for Your Health to***co cessation program with certified to***co treatment specialists for Licking County residents. Our counselors receive extensive training to become certified as a specialist and utilize evidence-based techniques to assist clients in developing a plan that will offer an opportunity to become to***co-free.
Participation in the program is free for Licking County residents by self-enrollment or referral by a Licking County physician if a non-resident. Smokers who wish to quit can either ask their primary care physician for more information or simply call (220) 564-QUIT (7848).

Video games are popular gifts that many children receive during the holidays. Gaming offers entertainment, an opportunity to escape from reality, and has the potential to positively impact mental health by assisting individuals to learn higher-level and abstract thinking skills, communicate with others, and relieve stress. However, spending hours playing video games can have a negative impact on mental and physical health. Parents and caregivers can take proactive steps to encourage responsible gaming habits for their children. Nobody wants to be sick during the holidays! Washing hands is one of the simplest and most effective ways to stop the spread of germs and maintain good health. Clean hands help prevent illnesses such as diarrhea and respiratory infections, including the common cold and flu. Many germs are transmitted when hands are not washed properly, which is why handwashing is especially important after using the bathroom, preparing food, before eating, and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.
