On World Cancer Day, we pause to recognize the millions of people whose lives have been impacted by cancer in different ways, at different moments and with different outcomes.

About every two minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with lung cancer. But lung cancer is more than a diagnosis or a statistic. Behind every number is a person. A family. A story.

Today, you can take action in a way that’s meaningful to you:
🫁 Share your story: lung.org/share-your-story
📞 Talk to a Lung Health Navigator for personalized lung cancer support at 844-ALA-LUNG
💙 Connect with others impacted by lung cancer by attending an event or volunteering: lung.org/get-involved

Together, we honor every story and keep pushing for earlier detection, better treatment options and lasting hope.

Our 2026 State of To***co Control report is here!

In 2025, major federal rollbacks weakened the systems that help prevent to***co use and support people who want to quit. That puts years of progress at risk.

Our new report shows how every state is doing and what leaders must do to protect lives. See our state’s grade and read the full report: Lung.org/SOTC

Atlantic City casinos are still clouded in secondhand smoke, and the science is clear: there’s no safe level of exposure. Recent testing found air quality levels inside casinos at “very unhealthy” to “hazardous.”

New Jersey ended smoking in nearly every public space 19 years ago. It’s past time to close this loophole.

New Jersey bans smoking in other public places, but smokers can still light up in the state's nine casinos. We tested the toxicity of that secondhand smoke. It's time to end this sweetheart deal the gaming industry has enjoyed for nearly two decades.

Kids are more vulnerable to indoor air pollution than adults.

Kids take more breaths per minute—and breathe in more toxins.

Kids can’t always explain when something feels wrong.

Children with asthma, allergies or other health conditions face even higher risks from poor indoor air.

Let’s protect our most vulnerable. Learn more at Lung.org/CASC.
