MASSAGE THERAPY OFFICE UPDATE

As I'm nearing the end of the 6th week of shutdown, I wanted to reach out to everybody with an update and to see how you're doing and coping. It is unfortunate that massage therapy locations are NOT part of the Phase 1 of re-opening the State of Ohio. On Tuesday this week, I spent the afternoon contacting anybody who would listen to me at the Ohio Department of Health, Licking County Health Department and the Ohio Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association searching for clarification on the Cease Business Order that was issued on March 20th and pleading my case as to why therapeutic massage should be considered an essential business. Although everybody agreed and sympathized with the situation, they have to interpret the order as it has been written. The representative from LCHD doesn't expect massage therapy locations, nail techs, hairstylists/barbers, etc to be allowed to re-open until Phase 3! Therefore, I'm expecting to be closed at least another 2-4weeks. As soon as I receive the green light to open again I will contact you for scheduling. I want to shout out a special thank you to those who have purchased gift certificates and sent gifts to help keep the expenses of the office paid during this unprecedented time. My heart is over-filled with gratitude and your overwhelming support is most appreciated! In the meantime, keep up those stretches and exercises. On Friday, March 20th I received notice from the State Medical Board of Ohio to cease operations, as ordered by the Director of the Ohio Department of Health, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The massage office will be closed until further notice. The order specifically prohibits me from delivering massage therapy services in my home or yours during this time. In the meantime, please remember to do your stretches and exercises you've been given. I will be available via text message or phone if you need help remembering what to do, problem solving your pain, reference materials, or even if you just want to let me know how you're doing.
All scheduled appointments will be cancelled through April 4th. Beyond that date, I'll take it week by week as long as the order is in effect. As soon as business is permitted to resume, I will contact you for scheduling. No date has been given for when business can resume.
Each of you are very important to me and I want us all to survive and see each other again soon. Please do your part and stay home! The sooner we all do this, the sooner we can go back to our lives. Wash your hands and cover your cough or sneeze!
