March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month - a reminder that screening saves lives.

Screening for colorectal cancer is recommended starting at age 45, and earlier if you are at higher risk. Screening is the number one way to prevent colorectal cancer through early detection and removal of precancerous polyps, with several options available to make the process accessible and effective.

At University Hospital, we’re here to support you every step of the way - from prevention and early detection to treatment and beyond. Taking action today can make all the difference for your future health.

To learn more or schedule a screening, call 973-972-3317 or visit uhnj.org.

University Hospital, in partnership with Integrity House, has launched a new Community Health Hub, further expanding community wellness and risk reduction initiatives.

Located outside the Emergency Department at 150 Bergen Street, the kiosk provides immediate and confidential access to essential health and prevention supplies. Available items include naloxone (Narcan), adulterant test strips, menstrual kits, personal hygiene kits, safer s*x kits, wound care kits, pregnancy tests, and at-home HIV test kits.

University Hospital is often a first point of contact for individuals experiencing a substance use–related crisis or other urgent health concerns. By positioning the Community Health Hub at this critical access point, this partnership helps ensure individuals and families can access prevention supplies and connect to additional services without barriers or delays.
