When you get injured or are in pain, it’s hard not to freak out…🤕⛔️⚠️
Here are some tips to help heal thyself ⤵️
⏸️practice being still and aware of the present moment vs thinking about your pain (this could be through a walk outside , breathing, yoga, sitting still on a park bench or by an ocean🌊 mountain ⛰️)
☀️sunshine heals. Period. Try not to blast yourself with 10-15 min of vitamin D and see how you feel after
💤getting quality sleep is the most anti-inflammatory thing you can do when in pain. Sleep is sometimes the hardest thing when in pain, but attack sleep quality by keeping the room dark and cool and not doing computer work or scrolling your phone in bed
🙂Optimism mindset =believe you will get better and you WILL get better ✨ (don’t rehearse those worst case scenario spirals and you will be wowed by how powerful a reframe swap of “this pain is unbearable and will never get better” for 🔄 “this is temporary and will get better”
🏋🏿♀️resistance training areas of the body that aren’t currently achy or painful helps reduce inflammation in the body and releases feel good chemicals (ps. get back to loading the painful area in some way as soon as tolerated even if a lighter load)
🚶🏻♂️Purposeful movement = don’t push through pain; move in a way that does not aggravate symptoms but eases them to keep blood pumping and moving inflammation out of your system
🤝connect with humans that you can laugh with and that will encourage healing lifestyle behaviors (not those who encourage quick fixes like drugs, injections, pills, surgery or that share their worst case scenario horror stories⚠️)
