Hazardous Road Conditions May Be Encountered
Wayne County, NY, (January 25, 2026) - Wayne County Sheriff Rob Milby has issued a No Unnecessary Travel Advisory to take effect at 1 PM on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in Wayne County. This travel advisory is issued as a result of the National Weather Service's Winter Storm Warning.
The No Unnecessary Travel Advisory is in effect until 5 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2026. This travel advisory does not restrict travel. It is, however, a warning to motorists that hazardous driving conditions may exist.
Significant snowfall may occur across parts of Wayne County, potentially making travel dangerous. Plow crews may not be on the road overnight, so road surfaces may see significant accumulations before plowing is resumed Monday morning.
The No Unnecessary Travel Advisory warning does not restrict travel. It is, however, a warning to motorists that hazardous driving conditions will exist overnight.
For the safety of all residents, the general public is encouraged to avoid being on the roads during these times and to use extreme caution while traveling in or around Wayne County.
