On Tuesday, LAPP had the distinct honor of hosting our community members and partners to celebrate the progress we’ve made in removing barriers to substance use treatment—and to solemnly acknowledge the work still ahead in Licking County. Together, we shared laughter, tears, heartfelt gratitude, and respect for those among us and those no longer with us. Each year, we continue this fundraiser for the people who never had the chance to share a story of recovery, and to uplift and keep faith for those who did.

We are deeply thankful to every person who sponsored, purchased a ticket, or placed a bid—your generosity allows us to share these crucial dollars with our loved ones and neighbors who need our help. Addiction does not discriminate; it touches everyone. But with help and treatment, we can reduce its reach and save more lives in the community we love so dearly.

Special thanks to Nate Hunt and the Hunt family for allowing us to share David’s story, in the hope that it will reach others who carry the same burdens. Thank you to Ashley Lewis for bravely serving as our emcee and continuing to give voice to her brother, Justin. Thank you to the Mason and Klontz families for helping us celebrate their loved ones, that have helped shape the very foundations of our organization.

We are grateful to our Evening of Giving Planning Committee for bringing all the pieces together, and to our LAPP staff and board—the boots on the ground—doing the hard work every single day.

We are humbled. We are honored. And we are proud to serve this community. See you again next year.

A Message From Jim Takacs:

Hello! I’m Jim Takacs, LAPP’s Executive Director and I would like to personally welcome you to our page.

At LAPP we believe that people can recover from both alcohol and other drug addiction and mental health issues. When people enter into recovery the strain on both family and the communities are alleviated. By providing integrated behavioral health services, employing evidenced best practice models such as Stage Wise Treatment and using Motivational Interviewing techniques we have been able to enhance treatment outcomes. The Stage Wise Treatment modality is based on the premise that counselors start where the client is in terms of values, beliefs, goals, and life experiences and it recognizes the power of using these differences to enhance change.

LAPP provides a myriad of “safety net” outpatient integrated behavioral health programming services to the Licking County area at a low cost to thousands of persons in the community. Our website provides a wealth of information about our services and how to access them. I encourage you to read more about our programs on the pages of this website in order to have a better understanding of the vital work we do.

We look forward to hearing from you, and to working with you. Together, we will succeed.
