WE ARE HIRING!!

Entry level Billing Specialist candidate should have at least a high school diploma. Candidates will contact insurance carriers to resolve outstanding balances on claims.

Requirements:
A high school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of administrative experience in a medical or healthcare setting.
Associate's degree in accounting, business, or economics may be preferred.
Basic mathematical skills.
Excellent communication skills to deal with medical insurance companies and to explain financial matters to patients and staff.
Above-average organizational skills to be able to locate files or patient records speedily.
Attention to detail to maintain patient records proficiently and to check that the accounts have been entered accurately.
The ability to process cash or credit card payments.
Proficiency in account data input to prepare statements for patients.

Responsibilities Include:
~Managing patient accounts and preparing invoices
~Inputting patient information and maintaining up-to-date records of patient data using computer software.
~Performing administrative tasks such as answering phone calls and responding to emails.
~Following up with insurance payers that are late and overdue.
~Post adjustments, transfer of responsibility, and refund, when needed, and update accounting records accordingly.
~Prepare invoices, reconcile billing, compile reports and other documents using billing software, and field related questions from internal teams and customers
~Submit insurance claims and follow up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims to resolve and resubmit when required

Revenue Management Medical Billing would like to welcome Sierra Davis to our team. Sierra is a graduate of Winthrop University and decided to give the non-clinical side of the medical field a try. We are excited to have her as a part of our team.

-Daily follow up on all outstanding insurance and patient claims
-Research and validate posted payments and adjustments to ensure claims processed as expected according to contractual agreements
-Review and process correspondence received to resolve open A/R balances
-Work with supervisors to streamline billing procedures based on denial types
-Review denials and underpayments for appeal and/or resolution
-Handle incoming calls from patients and insurance companies regarding claims and patient balances
-Provide best billing practices and payor trends to other revenue cycle areas to improve revenue cycle operations
-Participate in revenue cycle projects as needed

Essential Education, Experience and Skills:

Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
Two years in billing electronic and paper physician claims
Experience with Managed Care Contracts, Medicare and Medicaid
