The CAMP The CAMP a school based health center, providing medical & mental Health services to students 5-21. Located in Tahquamenon Area School. The C.A.M.P. The CA.M.P.

(Counseling and Medical Place) is a school-based health center that provides medical and mental health services to students at Tahquamenon Area School. is centrally located at Newberry High School, Room 170. This makes it very easy for students to access health services without having to leave the building. provides medical services for acute illnesses, chronic conditions, well child exams, immunizations, sport physicals, concussion vital signs and more through Laura Gribbell, FNP-C. Behavioral health services are provided by Adolescent Therapist Wendy Young, LMSW, BCD. Therapy services include, anxiety, depression, anger management, family or peer relationship, grief, PTSD, self esteem, academic concerns & substance abuse. We also partner with LMAS District Health Department to provide educational and support programs such as drug and alcohol awareness, nutrition, and smoking cessation classes and seminars. Services at The CAMP are designed for adolescents ages 5-21. We are here for those who have insurance, who are under-insured, or who have no insurance. If you are under the age of 18, you will need a parent/guardian to sign a consent form. These can be found at the CAMP, or you can call 293-3226 Ext 1427 and request to have one sent home via email, backpack or mail. Students can request confidential HIV/STD testing as well as pregnancy tests.*

*The CAMP CAN NOT prescribe or dispense ANY contraception/family planning/birth control of any kind.

**You will not need parent/guardian consent to receive mental health counseling, HIV/STD testing or pregnancy tests, as these are confidential services.

School-Based Mental Health Specialist

The LMAS District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time School-Based Mental Health Specialist to serve Munising Public Schools.

This position provides on-site, comprehensive mental health services (mild to moderate severity) to children, adolescents, and young adults. The ideal candidate will have experience with confidential intake, risk assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based treatment delivery.

The successful candidate will collaborate with community resources—including health providers and school staff—to create individualized treatment plans supporting students and families.

Requirements:
✅ Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline
✅ Licensed in Michigan as either a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

This is a full-time position with benefits.

📢 Community Food Drive – November 3rd–13th! 🥫

LMAS District Health Department is hosting a community-wide food drive to help address food shortage concerns for residents in Luce, Mackinac, Alger, and Schoolcraft Counties.

📍 Donation Drop-Off:
🗓 Monday, November 3rd – Wednesday, November 13th
⏰ 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
📦 Donations can be dropped off at any LMAS office during business hours.

All collected items will be distributed to local food pantries serving our communities:

Luce County: Newberry Community Action Agency Food Pantry

Mackinac County: St. Ignace Food Pantry & St. Ignace Community Action Agency Food Pantry
