W. J. (Dub) Turnbow, 85, of St. Robert, Missouri, passed into eternity Sunday evening, October 12, 2025, at Life Care Center, Waynesville, Missouri. Born in Haskell, Texas on November 5, 1939, to Melvin and Mae Bell Turnbow.

Dub was known for hard work and helping people. He loved babies and children, was very sociable and enjoyed talking to people. He did not like to see animals suffer and fed strays because he couldn’t stand to see an animal starve. Dub made a profession of faith and was baptized in the river in the early 90s. He was a member of and faithfully attended Gospel Ridge Church as long as he was able. He worked for construction companies, operating heavy equipment and then purchased his own equipment running his own business. He served as a member of the Water Department Board until he could no longer hear well enough to participate in the meetings; he was a deputy sheriff for a few years and a well-known member of the community.

Dub was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Mae Bell Turnbow, his wife Ida, one brother, Melvin (Bud) Turnbow, three sisters, Florence (Sanner) Larned, Geraldine (Sis) Furrh and Nita Legget.

Surviving are stepson Darrell York, daughter-in-law Kay York, granddaughter Kay Waynette Wardani, one brother, Gary Turnbow, two sisters Loretta Hatfield and Gina Trussell, three great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Services for William will be held on Saturday, October 18th, 2025 at St Robert Gospel Church, 23181 Harlan Lane, St Robert, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggestions donations to the Gospel Ridge Cemetery. Dub took care of maintaining the cemetery as long as he was able and then oversaw a fund to cover costs of mowing and upkeep. Otis Dale Keeling, age 87, of Dixon, Missouri, passed away on September 28, 2025, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. He was born on May 25, 1938, in Neosho, Missouri, to Claud and Leta (Kimbrough) Keeling, who preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Keeling; sister, Bonnie Schrimpsher; and brothers, Floyd and Winfred Keeling.

He is survived by his devoted companion of more than 40 years, Judy Ann Rollins; his only son and daughter-in-law Waylon & Rhonda Keeling, Ron Jr. & Donnie Rollins; grandchildren, Jessica & Tiera Keeling, Kloee (Isaac) Farrow, Dillon Keeling, Brandi Martin, and Donnie Baker; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, his sister, Melba Harrington, and brother, Billy Keeling.

A 1956 graduate of Waynesville High School, Dale proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961, receiving an honorable discharge. Following his service, he pursued his passion for racing, owning and driving his own car at tracks across Missouri, Texas, Iowa, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan until his retirement from the sport in 1967.

Dale went on to become a successful businessman, owning and operating Dale’s Used Cars, Keeling’s Auto Auction, and the 1606 Club in Dixon. Away from work, he was an avid golfer, earning recognition and awards for his skill. As one of the first members of Oak Hill Country Club in Dixon, he was later honored with a lifetime membership.

Family time was especially important to Dale. When his boys were young, he enjoyed taking them camping at Lazy K Campground at Bagnell Dam, where they spent many happy days fishing and swimming together.

Dale will be remembered as a proud veteran, a passionate sportsman, and a devoted family man whose legacy lives on in the lives of those who loved him.

Services for Otis will be held on Friday, October 3rd, 2025 at Pisgah Baptist Church, 14446 Columbia Rd, Dixon, MO.

Carolyn Maude Yowell, age 75, of Newburg, Missouri, passed away on September 7, 2025. She was born on August 13, 1950, in Flat, Missouri, to Elmer Clarence and Beulah Ellen (Alexander) Hoffman.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Yowell; her parents, Elmer and Beulah Hoffman; sisters, Shirley Smith and Amelia Riden; granddaughter, Kendra Herron; in-laws, William and Margie Yowell; sister-in-law, Wilma Yowell Stinman; brother-in-law, Roger Allee; and sister-in-law, Sue Yowell.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Herron and significant other, Brett Summers of Newburg; grandson, Easton Herron; brothers, Richard (Karen) Hoffman of Rolla and Butch Hoffman of Newburg; brother-in-laws, Raymond Yowell of Doolittle and Winford Steinman of Jefferson City; and sister-in-law, Lynda Allee of Jefferson City.

Carolyn was a woman of many talents and joys. She loved cooking and was especially known for her delicious cinnamon rolls. She also made a variety of homemade ice creams. She enjoyed deer hunting, particularly bow hunting and tracking and was involved with the Beaver Creek bowhunters till her husband's death in 1985. Carolyn also liked playing horseshoes, camping, and crocheting afghans. She found joy in tending her flower gardens and treasured time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at First Christian Church in Newburg, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.

Tamatha Faye Kelley, 55 of Dixon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025. She was the daughter of Linda Sears of Dixon and the late Dale Campbell, and was born in Waynesville, Missouri.

Tamatha dedicated her life to being a homemaker and the heart of her family. She was known for her good cooking and she filled her home with warmth, laughter and love. In her younger years Tamatha had a passion for riding horses earning many medals along the way. She cherished her morning's with coffee, enjoyed tending to flowers, and loved decorating for each season — fall always being her favorite. Her greatest joy was her family. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and made every moment with them special. She never missed a holiday, always spoiling them with handmade gift baskets that showed her love and thoughtfulness. A kind nurturing and incredibly strong woman Tamatha's presence touched everyone who knew her. She was a member of Victory Hill Baptist Church in Dixon, Missouri where her faith and kindness were evident in all she did.

Tamatha is survived by her loving mother Linda Sears of Dixon; her brother Nathan Campbell of Temple, Texas; her children Nick Reynolds of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Ashley Laughlin of Waynesville, Missouri; her stepchildren Danny Kelley of Edmond, Oklahoma and Darren Kelley of West Fargo, North Dakota; several beloved grandchildren; and her two faithful dogs Diesel and Pooter, who brought her endless joy and companionship.

She was preceded in death by her father Dale Campbell and her husband Rick Kelley.

Robert Lee Lane, age 70, of St. Robert, Missouri, passed away on August 23, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1954, in St. Robert to Robert Brian Lane and Veda Marie (McKinnon) Lane.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Linda Morgan and Tina Mullins; and his stepson, Dale Ray Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lane of St. Robert; stepdaughter, Judy (Harold) Atterberry of St. Robert; step-grandchildren, Justin Abbey, Robert Abbey, and Dominick Clements; brother, Alvin Lane; and sisters, Marilyn Babineaus and Brenda Wilson.

Known affectionately as “Chef,” Robert loved to cook, always taking pride in keeping his kitchen clean and organized. In his younger years, he worked as a mechanic, plumber, and construction worker. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and spending time along the river. Above all, Robert cherished his wife, Linda, and his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gwendolyn Gaye Paul, age 82, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away on August 16, 2025, in Rolla. She was born on April 27, 1943, in Rolla to Albert (Pete)Vernon Hance and Dorothy (Dot) Mae (Huskey) Hance.

Gaye was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gary Hance; her in-laws, George and Anna Paul; and her brother-in-law, Lavern Burton.

She is survived by her loving husband, Les Paul of Rolla; two brothers, Larry Hance and wife Ellen of Texas, and Tim Hance and wife Tamie of Rolla; her sister, Becky Elgin and husband Richard of St. James; and two sister-in-laws, Mary Anne Hance and Alice Burton. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews: Tanner & Hannah, Tessa, Taylor, Tucker, Torie & Ethan, Scott & Melissa, Cameron & Samantha, Michael, George & Carmaleen.

Gaye had a deep love for gospel music and enjoyed playing the piano. She was known as a wonderful cook and had a passion for crossword puzzles. She was a talented speller, and loved reading, especially cherished time spent with the Bible.

Her life was filled with love for her family, her faith, and the simple joys that brought her peace and happiness. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

William Theodore Porteous III, age 40, of Waynesville, Missouri, passed from this life on August 5, 2025. He was born on September 17, 1984, in Chandler, Arizona, to William Theodore Porteous Jr. and Michelle Pamela (Sparks) Porteous.

William was preceded in death by his father, William Theodore Porteous Jr.; his son, William Porteous IV; brother, Christoph Michael Porteous; father-in-law, Jim Jones; mother-in-law, Kathleen Hughes; and grandparents, William and Connie Porteous, and William C. Sparks.

He is survived by his mother, Michelle Sparks of Arizona; wife, Brandi Porteous of Waynesville; children, Kaylynn Porteous and significant other Octavion West, Kadence Porteous, Serenity Porteous, and James Porteous; grandson, Easton West; and granddaughter on the way, Kadie. He is also survived by sisters, Candice (Nathan) Morrow of Lebanon, and Kayla (Coddy) Williams of Arizona; nieces & nephews he and Brandi raised, Ray, Michael, and Angel, Kathleen and Essa; as well as many extended family members and friends.

William had a passion for collecting coins, Zippo lighters, die-cast autos, and motorcycles. He enjoyed making candles, watching Dallas Cowboys football, and cheering on NASCAR. He loved his family deeply and valued spending time with them. William appreciated all kinds of music, especially Snoop Dogg.
He will be remembered for his big heart, his fun-loving nature, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Brenda Diane Grisham (65) of Rolla, MO, passed from this life on July 8, 2025. She was born on September 12, 1959 to Perry Edward Perry & Patsy Fern (Willis) Perry in Rolla, MO.

Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Les Grisham; her parents, Perry Ed Perry and Pat Willis Perry (née Karnes); her son, George Dale Hinds; her sister, Sammy McCormick; and two brothers, Dale Perry and Steven Perry.

She is survived by her son, Matthew Hinds of Rolla; and three daughters: Amy Hinds, Leslie Schlichter and husband Chester, and Jamie Demiere and husband Kyle, all of Rolla. Brenda leaves behind a legacy of love through her many grandchildren: Christopher, Kathlynn, Kleshly, Mason, Marcus, Alexa, Daron, Abby, Faith, Tommy, Alivia, Lily, James, and David Mark. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Wiese, and her brother, Keith Perry.

Brenda was known for her warm and open heart. She never met a stranger and was good-hearted to all. A true people person, she loved socializing and made everyone feel welcome in her presence.

She was passionate about baking and quilting, and found joy in canning garden goods—especially vegetables and fruits. Brenda was a gifted cook, and her kitchen was a place of comfort for many. She deeply loved her family and her dogs, and created a home full of love, laughter, and home-cooked meals.
Brenda’s kindness, energy, and love will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

David Eugene McElfresh, age 67, of Duke, Missouri, passed away on July 29, 2025. He was born on July 11, 1958, in Licking, Missouri, to Lester Lee McElfresh and Merle (Dowden) McElfresh.

David was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Hershel McElfresh; his nephew, Jason Wilson; and his niece, Tina Harris.

He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa McElfresh of Duke; his children, David (Heather) Humphrey, Jennifer (Heath) Huff, and Amanda (Michael) Lewis; 11 grandchildren—Elizabeth, Brittany, Oscyrusz, Dawn, Payge, Ty, Calyn, Ethan, Hunter, Corbin, and Eli; and 6 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Beverly Rowe, Janis (James) Curtis, Barbara (Donald) Humphrey, and Mark McElfresh.

David was a man who cherished the simple joys of life. He loved spending time outdoors—camping, floating, and fishing—and was a fan of Westerns, both in books and on screen. He enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs, playing dominoes, and riding his motorcycle. Above all, David treasured the time he shared with his family and friends.

Mary Leo Singleton, age 65, of Vienna, Missouri, passed away on June 19, 2025. She was born on May 11, 1960, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Raymond John Schmitz and Martha Josephine (Zielman) Schmitz.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Kathy Singleton.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Walter Singleton of Vienna, and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Singleton, and his wife Barbara.

Mary came to faith as a born-again Christian in 1993 and remained a dedicated and active member of her church throughout her life. She cherished time spent with her church family and loved ones, always finding joy in fellowship. Christmas was her favorite time of year, a season she embraced with warmth and celebration.

Mary will be remembered for her strong faith, love of community, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Donald "Gene" Eugene Humphrey, age 90, of Newburg, Missouri, passed from this life on July 19, 2025. He was born on September 14, 1934, in Vessie, Missouri, to William Chester Humphrey and Edith Jane (Henson) Humphrey.

Donald, lovingly known as “Gene,” was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mildred Hatfield; brothers, Wayne and Walter Humphrey; and sisters, Dorothy Slawson, Stella Bonebrake, Anne Copeland, and Sarah Humphrey.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Humphrey of Newburg, MO; three daughters: Mary Barton of Lowry City, MO; Wilma Sue Burton of Rolla, MO; and Teresa McElfresh and husband David of Duke, MO; and two sons: Donald Humphrey and wife Barbara of Edgar Springs, MO; and Todd Humphrey and wife Colleen of Newburg, MO. He is also survived by two stepsons: James Baker of Rocky Mount, MO; and Keith Fulks of St. Louis, MO, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Gene was known for his love of music and his exceptional talent. Blessed with a beautiful voice, he enjoyed singing and was a devout Christian. He was a proud, long-standing member of Edgar Springs Assembly of God, where he used his musical gifts to sing gospel songs and share his testimony. His faith and music were instruments of spreading the gospel throughout his life.

Above all, Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved to socialize and made many lasting friendships during his lifetime. His kindness, voice, and faith will be remembered by all who knew him.

Norma Jean Dotson, 87, of Rolla, Missouri, passed from this life on July 16th, 2025. She was born on October 9th, 1937, in Newburg, Missouri, to Carl William Turner and Oleta Thelma (Ray) Turner.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Jack Dotson; a son, John Crawford; and her sister, Anita McFarland.

She is survived by her son, Larry Dotson and his significant other, Kinkel Rowan of Texas; grandchildren, Andrew and his wife Irene of Texas, and Nathaniel Dotson of Colorado; and great-grandchildren, Arthur and Henry Dotson.

Norma loved reading and was a talented seamstress who made her own clothes. She was also a beautician and found great joy in gardening. Norma adored animals and had a deep love for all kinds of pets. A professed Christian, she drew strength from her faith. She could grow anything from her garden and had a special affection for Newburg history and family genealogy. Norma will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, at Rolla Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 750 S Rolla Street.
