SAVE THE DATE: Help Shape Indiana’s 2027-2032 State Plan!
The Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities is developing its 2027–2032 State Plan, and they are asking the community what should change over the next five years.
This plan will influence policies, funding priorities, and supports for people with disabilities across Indiana. Decisions made now will shape opportunities for communication, education, independence, and inclusion.
If you are a parent, caregiver, CRP, educator, therapist, or self-advocate, your voice matters — and it carries responsibility. Too often, decisions are made without hearing from the people most impacted. This is one of those moments where speaking up can help shape the future.
If you attend a listening session, consider advocating for priorities like:
• Communication Access Must Be a Civil Right
• Alternatives to Traditional Behavior Models
• Building Pathways to Meaningful Education and Employment
• Investing in Family Training and Support
• Building truly inclusive communities

If we want better systems for people with disabilities, we have to help shape them.
Because advocacy isn’t just important — it’s our responsibility.
