Does your child seem easily distracted when doing homework or completing everyday tasks?
Many children struggle with focus at different points in their development. Distraction doesn’t necessarily mean a child is lazy or not trying hard enough — often it means they need different strategies or support to help them manage attention and organization.
Some helpful approaches include:
• Breaking tasks into smaller steps
• Creating predictable routines
• Using visual reminders or checklists
• Allowing short movement breaks between tasks
• Reducing distractions in the learning environment
In some cases, distraction may also be related to executive functioning challenges, ADHD, or learning differences. With the right support, many children develop stronger focus and confidence in their abilities.
