Honored to be part of a powerful panel discussion on immigrant experiences and resilience.

As a Jamaican-born immigrant and therapist, this work is both personal and professional. Being in a space where stories are shared, validated, and honored—it truly means everything.

Grateful for the opportunity, the connections, and the reminder that our stories have power. Thank you so much to the faculty at University of Saint Joseph for such an important event.

Honored to return to my alma mater, the University of Saint Joseph, as a panelist for Voices of Resilience: Immigrant Narratives Through an Interprofessional Lens.

As an immigrant, therapist, and founder of My Story Counseling, this work is deeply personal. I’ll be speaking on the mental health challenges immigrant families face and the importance of culturally responsive care.

This is more than a conversation, it’s about understanding, advocacy, and creating systems that truly support healing. ❤️‍🩹 ❤️

Strong women don’t just carry success.
We carry responsibility.

We carry families.
Expectations.
The pressure to be the “strong one.”

Many high-achieving women were the helpers, fixers, and caregivers long before they became leaders.

But strength doesn’t mean doing everything alone.

Healing means learning that support is not weakness.

Today on International Women’s Day, I want to remind the women who hold everything together:

You deserve rest.
You deserve support.
You deserve healing too.

High-achieving women often carry more than success.

They carry family expectations.
Emotional labor.
Unresolved childhood roles.

Healing means learning you deserve support too.

Therapist. CEO. Speaker.

This week I had the honor of speaking to young singles about dating, boundaries, and emotional health.

I built my practice to help people rewrite their story — and moments like this remind me why I do the work.

More conversations like this coming soon. 🎤

Political tension. Economic uncertainty. Emotional fatigue.

This month at My Story Counseling, we are focusing on:
• Nervous system regulation
• Boundaries without guilt
• Healing from narcissistic abuse
• Supporting high-achieving women

You deserve support, not just survival.
