Cravings

This is one sign your body is not in balance. What can you do? I hear you. It's late in the afternoon and a few hours before dinner, you are feeling tired and need something.

Try one of these strategies:

1. Stock your cabinets/refrigerator with healthy snacks - do not even buy sweet stuff
2. Proteins and fat curb hunger so make sure you eat both at every meal
3. Drink some water - many times you think you are hungry but in fact, you are thirsty.
4. Fruit - sweet may curb cravings
5. Avoid artificial sweeteners - your brain will want more
6. Find your triggers - stress, lack of sleep, and see the warning signs
7. Delay - wait 10 minutes and see if you still feel that way
8. Dilute it
9. Portions - figure out the sugar content per serving and measure
10. Timing - after a workout instead of anytime
11. Savor the flavor - usually, the first bite is the best
12. Add spices instead of sugar
13. Learn to read labels
14. Go cold turkey

Withdrawl - may take a solid week to feel better, might interpret as hunger but it’s your body adjusting to not having sugar.

Try one of these strategies to find one that fits best with you. Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks for your body to adjust.
