How Breastfeeding May Help with Depression

Hormonal Effects: The hormones released during breastfeeding, primarily oxytocin and prolactin, have mood-ameliorating and stress-reducing effects.
Oxytocin, the "bonding hormone," promotes feelings of calmness, relaxation, trust, and attachment, which helps facilitate a strong emotional connection between the mother and baby.
Prolactin is associated with a reduction in the body's stress response (cortisol levels), which may help regulate mood and improve sleep patterns, further reducing the risk of depression.

Winter tips for warmth in the winter.

To keep ni***es warm in winter, especially if breastfeeding (to prevent painful vasospasm), layer clothing, use wool or synthetic breast pads (avoid cotton), warm them with hands or compresses, and apply lanolin or olive oil to prevent drying, focusing on keeping your whole body and core warm to maintain circulation. Avoid sudden temperature changes and air-drying them after feeds.
