We have attempted to contact each patient individually by phone and by mail, but in the event you have not been reached yet we have the following announcement:

Jessica Storer, DNP, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC will not be returning to Avery Wellness. We understand that changes in care can be unsettling, and we want to reassure you that your health and continuity of care remain our highest priority.

You are welcome to continue receiving care with Avery Wellness, we are here to help you navigate this transition smoothly and remain fully committed to providing the high-quality primary care you deserve. If you have an upcoming appointment with Jess and a member of our staff has not contacted you please call the office. In the meantime, if you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 828-397-9334.

UNC patients may have received notice that their insurance will not be accepted at Cannon Memorial or ARMA Offices. Please note Avery Wellness is an independent practice. This announcement does not include our services at our office. It may change where we can refer and where you can get imaging done. We will work with you to figure it out and make sure you get the care you need. Any concerns about this announcement and your services received at a UNC facility should be directed to the UNC Billing Office.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For women aged 40 and above, annual cancer screening is recommended. If you are asymptomatic or have no concerns, you can schedule a screening mammogram without a provider's order. Locally, you can contact Central Scheduling at UNC Appalachian to make an appointment (828-268-9036). Appointments can be scheduled at either Watauga Medical Center in Boone or Cannon Memorial in Linville. Alternatively, you can use your MyChart App to schedule an appointment. Simply tap on 'Make An Appointment' and scroll down to 'Breast Cancer Screening.' Our local facility options are listed under 'Appalachian' at the bottom of the list. For your convenience, Cannon now offers 3D mammography. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office or send a message through your CharmPHR portal. October can be a spooky month, but breast cancer screening does not have to be intimidating.
