Exercise during pregnancy has many benefits for both mama & baby!

The Talk Test is a great way to determine the intensity of your exercise to avoid over-doing it.

During the exercise, if you are unable to carry on a conversation, you may need to decrease the intensity or take more frequent rest breaks.

Do you go to the bathroom one more time before leaving the house even though you just went less than an hour before… just in case?

Do you know my heart the location of the nearest bathrooms in all your favorite stores/restaurants/coffee shops… just in case?

Do you p*e one more time before turning off the lights at night even though you just went before brushing your teeth… just in case?

Are bladders are sensitive and can be trained to think we need to p*e more frequently than we actually do. ⏰

We should be p*eing once every 2-4 hours during the day (depending on fluid intake) and no more than 1x during the night.

Are you p*eing more frequently than this? Or feel urgency when your key unlocks the door like you might not make it?

At Thrive, we take a look at your body as a whole and how it functions together, not just the pelvic floor.

In fact, kegels are rarely recommended on their own because our pelvic floor functions within a system and we we need all parts of the system to work together to achieve results.

It’s important to have a program specially tailored to your needs.

Pelvic floor PT looks like:

- Core connection to help you lift, bend, carry
- Stretches and mobility exercises
- Exercise programs for pregnancy & return to exercise guidance postpartum
- Birth preparation, pushing techniques, positioning during labor
- Scar mobilization for C-section or perineal scarring
- Upper body exercises to help with neck and back pain with carrying, breastfeeding, etc.
- Relaxation exercises to reduce tension in the body
- Running analysis & guidance for return to running

Meet Megan 👋🏼

Hi! I’m Megan! I am a pelvic floor/ women’s health physical therapist & the owner/founder of Thrive Pelvic Health & Wellness!

I started Thrive with the goal to help educate & empower women when it comes to prenatal & postpartum care. (Hint: Postpartum is forever!) Women can feel good in their bodies and live their lives without fear of pain or p*eing their pants. They can regain their core control, alleviate pain with intimacy, avoid surgeries, and be able to get back to the activities they enjoy most at any stage in life!
