Coweta Samaritan Clinic

Coweta Samaritan Clinic Coweta Samaritan Clinic offers free medical care to uninsured Coweta County adult residents. The Clinic began treating patients on October 5, 2011.

Coweta Samaritan Clinic arose from Dr. Kay Crosby’s calling to create a medical home for uninsured and medically underserved adults in Coweta County. After twenty years practicing internal medicine, Kay left her private practice in 2008 to bring a free clinic to her hometown of Newnan, Georgia. Generous support from the Coweta County Hospital Authority (building lease), Newnan Hospital Foundation (annual operating funds), and Piedmont Newnan Hospital (free lab and basic radiology services) provided a solid foundation on which to build. Since then, the Clinic has provided care through nearly 34,000 patient visits (as of 6/30/23), in addition to care provided in volunteer offices/clinics throughout Coweta County and beyond. With the exception of three full-time and seven part-time employees, all medical care and office support is provided by volunteers. In addition, many kind and skilled specialists in the community treat clinic patients without charge in their offices. We exist because of philanthropic support. What a special event the Central Educational Center (CEC) 25th anniversary celebration was! The Coweta Samaritan Clinic has partnered with the CEC and West Georgia Technical College for over 10 years to offer dental services for our patients, training for students, and volunteer opportunities for dentists. Our program is just one example of one of the many Career, Technical, & Agricultural Education (CTAE) channels at CEC that equip students with the academic and technical skills needed for high-demand careers in our community! Coweta Samaritan Clinic's Executive Director, Kelly Hines, enjoyed celebrating with CEC Principal (and her husband! 😉), Hap Hines. Congratulations to our CEC friends on this momentous occasion, and thanks to everyone who is part of the history, the present, and the future of CEC!

Our Story

Coweta Samaritan Clinic (CSC) arose from Dr. CSC began treating patients in October 2011. Since then the clinic’s patient base has grown to more than 950 individuals and volunteer healthcare professionals have conducted more than 8,000 patient visits. With the exception of three full-time and four part-time employees, all medical care and office support is provided by volunteers. More than 80 volunteers are active at the clinic and the value of service provided by volunteers in 2014 was nearly $300,000. That does not include the value of services provided by many kind and skilled specialists in the community who treat clinic patients without charge in their offices.
