🩸 Hypoglycemia (also known as low blood sugar) can often times be avoided but when we encounter it, it can be quite scary 🧠

Hypoglycemia can result in
🔻brain dysfunction (headaches, dizziness, blurry vision, confusion, etc.) since the brain uses glucose as it’s preferred source of fuel
🔻poor mental function (abnormal behavior)
🔻premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
🔻metabolic syndrome

Hypoglycemia can be treated (and sometimes avoided) with
🟢adequate carbohydrates & fiber intake (whole grain sources such as quinoa, brown rice, millet) (vegetables, fruits and legumes)
🟢intake of Chromium (since it is crucial for blood sugar control) (I.e. 🥦, whole grains, beef & poultry)
🟢reduce alcohol & toxin exposure (check your daily product labels!)
🟢exercise daily (at least 30-60 minutes per day)

COFFEE is shown to be healthful ☕️
🌿filled with antioxidants, vitamin B5 & magnesium
🌿known to reduce risk of T2DM, Parkinson’s, and gallstones

Issues with drinking ☕️ daily
🌿adding sugar or artificial sweeteners (yes, artificial ones can cause other health issues)
🌿drinking the unfiltered version (it’s best to drink it filtered to prevent chemicals from entering your body)
🌿more than 6 cups can increase risk of dementia and lower brain capacity (aim for 4 or less cups/day)

How to sweeten your coffee healthfully:
🌿cinnamon
🌿unsweetened milks (such as oat or almond)

To ensure you’re drinking quality ☕️, make sure you’re purchasing from a seller that has their beans tested from toxins and molds!

Amazing alternatives:

WILD or farmed salmon?? 🐠 🍣

Read this:

The environment in which fish grow has a tremendous effect on their fatty acid composition.

Salmon raised in farms eat a diet of synthetic pigment to give them a rich pink hue, otherwise they Would be unappetizingly pale and grey in color. Due to their feed, they have far less EPA and DHA (omega 3 fatty acids). Additionally, they contain far more toxic chemicals. Of particular note:

• organochlorides
• brominated flame retardants
• methylmercury
• polychlorinated bisphenols (PCBs)
• other persistent organic pollutants (POPs)

There has been a strong link between PCBs I’m farmed fish and causes of insulin resistance on mice 🐭

WILD CAUGHT salmon, on the other hand derives it’s pink color from a diet rich in phytoplankton rush in EPA/DHA and has been shown to have fewer toxins despite our toxic oceans 🌊

Wild caught salmon is by fare more bang for your buck and the two can be considered different foods all together based on nutrient content.
