Piezo Rhinoplasty Tools Breakdown 🔩
Today, I used four different handpieces during my piezoelectric rhinoplasty, each serving a unique purpose for precision and control.

• Drill: creates clean, precise holes in the nasal bone for suturing without needing a blade or traditional power drill.
• L-SAW: used for hump reduction and medial osteotomies, smooth and efficient bone contouring.
• Monkey Arm: ideal for transverse osteotomies without percutaneous incisions; connects lateral and medial cuts seamlessly.
• Rasp Polisher: my new favorite, allows gentle smoothing under soft tissue with precision and less trauma compared to a scraper.

Here are some of my go-to instruments for this technique:
• Suctional tractor: built-in suction at the bottom keeps the field clear and lets you work hands-free.
• Power Rasp polisher (MP 0745): first time using this one, and it was amazing for refining!
• Monkey arm: used for transverse osteotomies without making percutaneous incisions.
• MT 913: my choice for precise hump reduction and medial osteotomies.

Before & After: Rhinoplasty 👃
Before surgery, the dorsal hump was more pronounced from the profile, the tip had a slight downward droop, especially when smiling or speaking, and the nose projected longer than the chin, which shifted overall facial balance. After rhinoplasty, you can see the bridge line is smooth and straight, the tip has been subtly lifted and supported for natural projection, and the nose is now proportionate to the lips and chin, creating a softer, more harmonious profile.
