She had implants before, experienced symptoms of Breast Implant Illness (BII), went through an explant, and now she’s trusting us with the next chapter: getting her implants back in. But first — let’s talk about BII, because it’s something more women are becoming aware of and deserve to understand. 👇⁠

Breast Implant Illness is a term used to describe a range of symptoms some women report after getting breast implants — things like fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, and more. Dr. Gaon shares that in his practice, about 50% of patients who undergo explant notice an improvement in symptoms, but the other 50% don’t see a difference. ⁠

And across the board? Many women, whether they improved or not, still want their volume back.⁠
⁠
For Paulina, fat grafting wasn’t an option; she’s incredibly fit and lean, so there simply isn’t enough fat to work with. That’s why we are trying something new. 🙌⁠

We’ll be using a Motiva implant with a specialized surface designed to reduce cellular activity, along with additional steps to minimize bacterial contamination, one of the hypothetical contributors to BII.⁠
