Most women think they need to eat less to lose weight… but the biggest change that helped me lose 20 lbs in 4½ months was actually eating more protein.
Not less food. Not starving. Just finally giving my body what it needed to burn fat efficiently.
Here’s why higher protein changes everything:
1. Protein increases calorie burn.
Your body burns more energy digesting protein than carbs or fat — it’s called the thermic effect of food. So you literally burn more calories just by eating it.
2. Protein keeps you full longer.
It stabilizes hunger hormones like ghrelin and boosts satiety hormones, which means fewer cravings, less snacking, and easier adherence to a calorie deficit.
3. Protein preserves muscle while losing fat.
When you diet without enough protein, you lose muscle — slowing metabolism. With high protein, you hold onto your muscle, keep your metabolism higher, and burn more fat.
If you’re stuck, tired, or constantly hungry during weight loss, start by raising your protein.
It changed everything for me.
