Ultraprocessed foods linked to higher risk of colorectal cancer in women

A new JAMA Oncology study found that women under 50 who ate the most ultraprocessed foods had a 45% higher risk of early-onset colorectal adenomas, a precursor to colorectal cancer.
Ultra-processed foods are industrially produced products that contain additives, preservatives, artificial flavors, or refined ingredients, such as packaged snacks, sugary cereals, fast food, and ready-to-eat meals.

These findings suggest that reducing intake of ultra-processed foods can be a simple way to lower early cancer risk.

Small changes in daily diet can make a meaningful long-term difference.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive procedure that uses magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of inside the human body. It is one of the safest imaging modalities, as it doesn’t use radiation, unlike X-ray or CT. However, the strong magnet and radio waves used in MRI scanning require safety protocols to prevent dangerous accidents. In this blog, we will review and address common questions about MRI safety and how CoreViva ensures your safety every time you enter the MRI room.

Understand MRI safety guidelines, metal risks, implants, and best practices. Learn how CoreViva reviews every detail to ensure a safe MRI scan.

Pro surfer Jack Freestone shares a simple truth: staying healthy doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s about getting back to the basics.

Train consistently: Regular movement improves circulation, strengthens joints, and boosts mental clarity.
Prioritize sleep: Quality sleep supports muscle recovery, hormone balance, and immune health.
Stay hydrated: Even mild dehydration affects energy and focus - water helps every cell perform at its best.
Eat clean: Whole foods reduce inflammation and fuel sustained energy.
Avoid sugar, alcohol, and smoking: These stress your cardiovascular and metabolic systems, accelerating aging and slowing recovery.

At CoreViva, we believe that peak performance in surfing and in life starts with knowing your body inside and out. Our whole-body MRI helps you see how those healthy habits pay off beneath the surface.

What You Should Know About Weight Loss Medications and Eye Health
GLP-1 medications (like Ozempic and Wegovy) have transformed diabetes and weight management, but new research suggests a potential link to eye health risks that deserves attention.
A recent JAMA Ophthalmology study found that patients with diabetes taking GLP-1 receptor agonists had twice the risk of developing wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) compared to those not on the drugs. The risk increased the longer patients used the medication.
While this doesn’t mean you should stop taking your prescribed medication, it’s a good reminder to:
    •    Keep up with regular eye exams and retinal imaging
    •    Tell your eye doctor about any vision changes
    •    Work closely with your healthcare providers to monitor both systemic and ocular health
GLP-1s continue to offer major benefits for blood sugar and weight control, but staying informed helps you protect your overall wellness, too.
At CoreViva, we believe in looking at the whole picture of health because what affects one system in your body can impact other systems as well. Know Your Body.

During perimenopause and menopause, declining estrogen levels affect multiple body systems. Estrogen isn’t just about reproduction; it also plays a protective role in maintaining bone density, cardiovascular health, and other vital functions. As these hormone levels shift, your risk profile changes too.
This makes the menopausal transition an ideal time to establish a comprehensive health baseline and monitor areas of concern.

cofounder Dr. Sean Deitch shares his recent CoreViva whole-body MRI scan experience and why he refers his patients to CoreViva.

“CoreViva’s imaging is more advanced than anything I’ve experienced. I’ve never seen that level of detail and clarity in imaging. Right after my scan, I met directly with the radiologist to review the images. I was able to see them myself, ask questions in real time, and get clear answers - something I haven’t found anywhere else.”
