At Coastal Behavioral Health (www.cbhnewport.com) we hope to encourage our patients, as well as our Facebook followers, to consider making gratitude and practicing thankfulness a part of our everyday lives. This is a wonderful TED talk reminding us of the importance of slowing down, and making gratitude as foundational a practice as adequate sleep, good nutrition, regular exercise, routine mindfulness, and cultivating frequent authentic connection with others in the quest towards true happiness and inner peace.
The one thing all humans have in common is that each of us wants to be happy, says Brother David Steindl-Rast, a monk and interfaith scholar. And happiness, he suggests, is born from gratitude. An inspiring lesson in slowing down, looking where you’re going, and above all, being grateful.
