The SEVA region is saddened to hear of the loss of dispatch call taker Sidney Cramer. You will be greatly missed

It is with the deepest regret that we announce the passing of Call Taker Sidney Cramer. Sidney was a beloved member of the LifeCare family and will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sidney’s family and colleagues during this challenging time.

Sidney joined the LifeCare family in September 2022 with a contagious smile and genuine enthusiasm to helping those in his community. He was an invaluable member of LifeCare’s Communications Department and was on track to be released as a Dispatcher in record time. His smile would light up the room and his positive energy was a comfort to those around him.

Please keep Sidney’s family in your prayers as they navigate through this sudden loss.

The 2023 Virginia Fire Rescue Conference comes to a close this afternoon. We had several members participating and taking training classes this week on topics including mental health awareness, incident management, and leadership. One of the most notable courses attended was EMS Officer 1, a course modeled after the Fire Officer 1 program and provided by the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services, molded toward EMS agency effective management, leadership skills, and responsibilities of the company officer. We appreciate our staff showing the dedication to continual training!

Some of these donated units came from right here in the SEVA region! Unit 11-18, which can be seen here in the main photo (the red & white unit), as well as 11-6 which was one of our purple Alzheimer’s Awareness units, served our region for many years and transported thousands of patients locally. We are proud to have supported this international effort!

Our crew has done it again! Congratulations to EMT/ Driver’s Jesse Blair and Matt Clark for bringing home to the SEVA Region the 1st Place Best Appearing Rescue Squad Unit trophy from the Urbanna Oyster Festival Fireman’s Parade this past Friday evening!

Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad placed 3rd, Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. placing 2nd in the same category. Congratulations to those units as well!

Jesse and Matt spent the day Friday cleaning and detailing Unit 14-1 for the parade that evening, which is arguably one of the largest and most prestigious apparatus parades in Virginia, and certainly the largest in our area! Congratulations again on a job well done!
