Did you know that today is Anosmia Awareness Day? Anosmia, also known as "smell blindness," is the partial or complete loss of the ability to detect smells. There are many different causes of Anosmia: viral infections, sinus and nasal diseases, head trauma, genetic conditions, and more. While often thought of as just the inability to smell pleasant things or a loss of taste, Anosmia can have serious consequences, such as the inability to detect rotten food, smoke, or gas leaks.
