This is what trying looks like. People don't always discuss putting their pain and feelings aside to share moments with their children after divorce and create new family memories together even when they aren't living like a family.
The kids don't always see what broke the world they had but they do see through all of the shattered pieces of what was...an image of what makes them who they are...and that is half their mother and half their father. They need both...even if not every day...it is nice to make it work on occasions.
Sure...there is a list of things that their father could have for where I was not who he wanted me to be at times and I certainly have my list of complaints but...this moment was worth it. For the kids...They deserve to be present in the calm of the storm...and I'm glad that on occasions I can help create those moments.
