April is a time to recognize, uplift, and celebrate individuals with autism during Autism Awareness Month 💙

In our line of care, we honored to support clients on the autism spectrum--each with their own strengths, perspectives, and needs. Autsim is not one-size-fits-all, and neither is the care we provide. That's why we focus on patience, understanding, and personalized support that empowers every individual to feel safe, respected and valued in their own home.

To our clients and families, we see you, we support you, and we are committed to walking alongside you every step of the way. 💙

🌸🐻Spring is here... and so are the bears!

As the weather warms up, American black bears are beginning to wake up from their long winter hibernation. After months of rest, they're hungry, active, and on the move - searching for food and exploring their surroundings again.

This seasonal awakening is a beautiful reminder that nature is coming back to life all around us🌿 But it's also a good time to stay aware, especially in wooded or rural areas. Remember to give wildlife plenty of space!

Let's welcome spring while respecting the wild neighbors who call it home 🐾💚

🌼POLLEN SEASON IS HERE!🌼

If you've stepped outside lately and noticed that yellow dust coating your car...you're not alone 😅 Spring pollen is in full swing

For many, this means sneezing, itchy eyes, and congestion--but a few simple steps can make a big difference:

🌿Keep windows closed on high pollen days
🧼Wash hands and change clothes after being outdoors
🚿Shower before bed to keep pollen out of your sheets
😷Consider wearing a mask if pollen counts are high
💊Stay on top of allergy medications as recommended

For clients and caregivers, managing allergies is key to staying comfortable and healthy during the season. A little prevention goes a long way!

Hey friends! FCR here with some fun facts for your Friday reading pleasure. 🌊Manta Ray Magic!🐋✨

💙Manta rays have a wingspan of up to 29 feet--that's wider than most cars are long!
🧠They have the largest brain of any fish, making them incredibly smart and curious.
🩻Each manta ray has a unique belly pattern, just like a fingerprint!
🍽️Despite their size, they only eat tiny plankton--total gentle giants.
🚀Some have even been seen leaping out of the water, possibly for fun!

Nature never stops amazing us 🌎 Happy Friday from FCR!🌻

💊Medication Reminders Matter More Than You Think!

Missing medications--even occasionally--can have a real impact on your health. Whether it's managing blood pressure, diabetes, or recovery after an illness, taking medications as prescribed keeps your care on track and your body supported.

Remembering medications can become overwhelming. That's where compassionate care makes all the difference. We can have someone there to gently remind, assist, and ensure everything is taken correctly and can bring peace of mind to both clients and family.

“Assisted Living at Home”

There’s no place like home, especially when you’re not feeling well. Our home care nurses and staff help you live safely at home with expert and responsive care.

Family Centered Resources, Inc., (FCR) was established in April 1994, after working with families in different settings in our community, and finding that clients and families need more than just skilled care at home. Personal care assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and assistance with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation for appointments and errands, often allows clients to remain living at home for many years, and remaining at home is the first choice for most individuals. My parents' home care needs and my family's struggle to find reliable, qualified help, led to the establishment of this agency in 1994. FCR has become a successful and reputable provider of home care because our goal is to provide the type of care that we would expect for our own loved ones. Our agency accepts private pay and Medicaid payments for our services, as well as Long Term Care Insurance. FCR is a family-owned business, not a national franchise, and we are proud to provide these services in the community where our family has lived and worked for over 70 years and where we plan to continue to provide services for many generations to come.
