ICYMI, Alaina and Carly are both around one year postpartum and feeling so motivated to work toward our body comp goals in a sustainable way!!

We’re finally sleeping better, no longer nursing, have more energy, and it truly feels like the right season to lock back into consistent workouts and better lifestyle habits, especially with what we’re putting on our plates. We hired a macro coach and have been LOVING it (shoutout 🙌). She’s helping us lose fat slowly and sustainably in a slight deficit, and we’re already seeing amazing results.

Tracking macros has been such a game changer for accountability, especially making sure we’re actually getting enough protein and fiber, two things we were definitely under-eating when we were just “eating intuitively.”

*It has been a learning curve, though. We’re not perfect, and we definitely don’t hit our macro goals every single day!!! But we keep showing up, doing our best, and stacking small wins!

We can’t wait to keep sharing the meals we’re obsessed with that are helping us reach our goals 🔥

I love you, Breastfeeding!!!!!! I always thought you were just about feeding my baby… but you were feeding something in me, too. 😭😭😭

Carly here! 11 months postpartum. Last Friday was the last time Carson and I nursed and we didn’t even know it. The most bittersweet kind of goodbye. I’m weaning ahead of knee surgery next month so we can get into a solid routine before recovery begins. It feels right. It still makes me cry.

Breastfeeding was imperfect and magical and hard and spiritual ALL AT ONCE. It was a privelage and a sacrifice. Even in the moments it drained me, breastfeeding grew my heart in ways I never knew were possible. I’m so grateful I got to experience it again.

(And to every woman here…. whether you breastfed for years, for days, couldn’t, struggled with supply, or chose not to at all… you are doing the best you can for your baby. That is what matters!)

Saying this out loud feels healing to me. It honors what we’ve accomplished. (You should have seen Alaina, Julie & I proofreading this, bawling our eyes out on a Zoom call 😂)

If you’re looking for a beautiful way to celebrate your breastfeeding journey, I cannot recommend personifying Breastfeeding enough.

Highly recommend writing a letter to Breastfeeding to close your time together (beware: it might make you cry).

I’ve done this set up TWICE now with my co-sleeping babies and it has helped us transition them out of my bed and into their own…safely!!

The first step was having to order another mattress!!! 🛏️

We cannot recommend .green enough. They are made with certified organic cotton, wool, and latex (free from polyurethane foams, flame retardants, and harmful chemicals).

Side note: they are the most affordable nontoxic kids’ mattresses in the USA (do not sleep on this!!!!). I also have the organic toddler pillow (soooo comfy) & mattress protector sheet.

PART 3 of how I got my kids to sleep through the night in their own beds!

Backstory: My boys who are 4 & 6 have NEVER fell asleep alone or slept through the night until recently. After hitting a breaking point, I came up with a massive plan with CHAT GPT and I stuck with it hard core for 2 weeks.

Please make sure you go back and watch Part 1 & 2 if you haven’t yet. *THE KEY is to implement ALL the tips together* and stick to the plan consistently.

Disclaimer: I’m not a sleep expert. Just a desperate mom who NEEDED a change. This is just what helped MY kids...I know every kid is different.

i’ve always been an intuitive eater, but being pregnant and postpartum back to back allowed a some chaos (and some sneaky habits) to creep in and throw me out of baLaNcE

the back of the simple mills brownie box was none of my business for a while 😅 but now… it is.

i was breastfeeding, had two kids, and truly didn’t have the capacity or desire to track anything and that was right for that phase.

i’m now in a motivated phase where using macros as a temporary check-in has brought those habits into the light so i can troubleshoot, adjust, feel better in my postpartum body, and move toward my goals!!!! - Carly
