School Based Health Center Poster Art Contest!

Students are invited to create artwork about health and wellness that could be displayed in our schools!

🏆 Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each grade group.

Themes by Grade Level:

K–2: Design a Bandage – Create an art design for a bandage that shows strength, wellness, or what helps you feel healthy and safe.

3–5: Healthy Habits – Make a poster showing physical or mental health habits (you can include one or several!).

6–8: Health (more details coming from your teacher).

📅 All artwork is due April 3.

Get creative and help promote healthy minds and healthy bodies!

Movie: The One and Only Ivan (rated PG)

Enter by the cafeteria. Pizza will be served from 5-6 pm in the cafeteria. The movie will begin at 5:30 in the gym. Feel free to bring blankets and an appetite. Bleachers will be available for seating as well. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Hi Families!

One of our amazing 4th grade teachers has set a goal this year to create real-world connections for students through the stories in our new SAVVAS reading curriculum. This week, that goal came to life in a special way with the story Trombone Shorty.

Debbie Gwynn collaborated with our outstanding NMS and NHS Music and Band teacher, Joshua Mendoza, who joined our 4th grade students during lunch to play his trombone, introduce students to the instrument, and share how music connects to the themes of the story. Students were engaged, inspired, and able to see literacy come alive through the power of music and meaningful real-life connections.

A huge thank you to Josh and Debbie for your collaboration and for helping connect learning beyond the classroom. These partnerships make a lasting impact on our students!
