Packing your hospital bag early is a total game-changer — trust me, you’ll thank yourself later! I’ve put together this warm, practical checklist so you can breathe easier and focus on what matters: meeting your baby.
What I pack (and why):
• Comfortable clothes + robe & slippers — hospital rooms get chilly.
• Nursing bras, maternity underwear & breast pads — comfort first.
• Toiletries & phone charger (long cable!) — small comforts go a long way.
• Snacks & water — labor can be long; bring your favorites.
• Important docs: ID, insurance, birth plan, hospital forms.
• For baby: going-home outfit, blanket, velcro swaddle, and don’t forget the car seat.
• For your partner: spare clothes, pillow/blanket, earplugs, snacks — they’re part of the team!
Pro tip: use packing cubes, keep a last-minute list on top of the bag for items you have to throw in like meds, and pack a small separate bag for your partner. Want a printable checklist to make this even easier? See the full list on our blog — we made it simple and stress-free!
You’ve got this — and Boston Birth Village is here to support you every step of the way. Share this with a parent-to-be in Newton, Brookline, Boston, Needham or Brighton who could use a little extra peace of mind! 👶✨
