On March 22, 2023, Jason and Lisa Meyer, owners of the Meyer Funeral Homes, purchased the Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois. The Thrasher family has served grieving families for over 28 years. Owned and operated by Don Thrasher, until his passing in 2016, his wife Joanna “Jody” and their children Julia Miller and Chase Thrasher have continued serving the families in Richland County.

The Meyer family, along with their employee Bruce Stout, will continue to serve the families of Olney and Richland County, with dignity and understanding. Bruce brings over 20 years of experience as a funeral director and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Olney location.

With their combined years of experience, the Meyers will strive for a seamless transition from Thrasher Funeral Home to Meyer Funeral Home. "Although the name will change, the same commitment to personal and quality service will be paramount. "

Together they are committed to serving in a professional, ethical, and compassionate manner as they help families through the loss of their loved one.

The current phone numbers will remain in place 618-392-6308 as well as the website www.thrasherfamilyfh.com in the future the website will merge with www.meyerfh.com.
