Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations Working together, the funeral home and memorial park have served the Catawba County community Catawba Memorial Park was established in 1948 by C.G. Rowe.

Fox as the first perpetual care cemetery in Catawba County, North Carolina. In 1978, William E. Rowe purchased the cemetery from Mr. Fox’s 3 daughters, Margie Furlong, Rachel Adams and Mildred Greer.

1978 - 1982

In 1978, the Garden Mausoleum opened as the first mausoleum in Catawba County to offer above-ground entombment and niches. In 1979, Brent Heffron purchased Catawba Memorial Park from Mr. In 1982, the Garden Mausoleum was completed, making it the largest mausoleum in Western North Carolina at the time. BRENDA GAIL TOWERY

HILDEBRAN – Brenda Gail Towery, 84 of Hildebran went home to be with the Lord on October 10, 2025.

Born on January 23, 1941 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ferbie Teague Throneburg.

Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Brenda loved line dancing and even taught it. She enjoyed working in her yard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Towery.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jeffrey Towery and wife Catherine, Gary Towery and wife Amy; grandchildren, Jordan Towery, Brian Kalwite, Metodie Jorgancierski, Anthony Jorgancieski; great-grandson, Avery Kalwite; a special friend, Jeff Robbins and loving companions, Chas Shea and Jen.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastors Pete Ross and Charles Stevens III officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM – 2 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catawba County Humane Society.

Condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com.
