Virginia Ferrell Mills, 91, of Mooresville died Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Gordon Hospice House. Born January 25th, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Bradley and Maggie McCall. Her husband, Jerry Mills; her children, Bill Stephens, Brenda Sue Yarbrough, Tony Stevens (Jonie), Buck Ferrell and Donald Ferrell (Tina); 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren survive her. Last night, the teams of Jenkins Funeral Home and Caring Cremations Life Celebrations and Funerals gathered for our annual Christmas Party, and it was truly a special evening. Surrounded by good food, laughter, games, and wonderful entertainment by Ulysses, we were reminded just how blessed we are to work alongside such an incredible group of people.
Moments like these allow us to pause, reflect, and appreciate the friendships and shared purpose that connect our two locations. We are more than coworkers — we are a family, united by service, compassion, and care for one another and the families we serve.

Timothy Gray Childers, 56, of Newton, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at his home. He was born June 27, 1969, in Lincoln County, North Carolina. Tim had a deep love for racing at Hickory Motor Speedway and Tri-County Speedway, competing in various divisions and taking great pride in his racing heritage.
