Jenkins Funeral Home is honored to have a table in the West Wing at The Art of Caregiving Resource Fair this Thursday, November 13th at The SALT Block in Hickory.
This special event, presented by Carolina Caring Foundation in partnership with the Hickory Museum of Art and Arts Culture Catawba, includes:
🕒 3:00–5:00 PM – Caregiver Resource Fair (West Wing)
🎬 5:00 PM – Documentary Screening in the Drendel Auditorium
🎤 7:00 PM – Speaker Panel
Whether you’re a caregiver, know someone who is, or simply want to learn more, this is a meaningful opportunity to connect with local experts and community resources.
Can’t attend in person? The documentary will also be streamed online at no cost for caregivers.

Meet Alton Price, a lifelong Catawba County resident who has dedicated nearly five decades to serving our community.

Alton spent 32 years with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, retiring as Captain of Community Relations, before serving more than nine years as a North Carolina Magistrate. He has also been a longtime volunteer with the Mountain View Fire Department and continues to serve on its Board of Directors, where he is currently Chairman of the Firemen’s Relief Fund Board.

Alton and his wife, Betty, have been married for over 44 years and are blessed with two daughters and three grandchildren. He is an active member of Mountain View Baptist Church, where he sings in the choir.

“I’ve been honored to serve the citizens of Catawba County for 49 years, and I look forward to continuing that service here at Jenkins Funeral Home.”

Today, Jenkins Funeral Home was honored to be part of the Carolina Caring Veterans Day Event held at the Historic Catawba County Courthouse in downtown Newton.
The program included a special thank-you to the Catawba Historical Society, Jenkins Funeral Home, and the Vietnam Veterans of America for their partnership and collaboration in honoring all Veterans on this meaningful day.
We are truly grateful to stand alongside our community in recognizing the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, honor, and dedication. ❤️🤍💙

Bobby Joe Gosnell

Bobby Joe Gosnell, 67, of Connelly Springs died Monday, November 10, 2025 at Carolina Caring. Born September 8th, 1958 he was the son of Ernest and Lucille Gosnell. He loved to joke and haggle with people and he loved to lighten the mood in the room to make everyone happy, even when he was in pain. Today, Dawn Mull, our HR/PR Director, represented Jenkins Funeral Home as a Chamber Ambassador The Chamber of Catawba County at the final First Friday Morning Brew of 2025!

Anita Barker Franklin, 53, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at her home.
