Not all under-eye shadows are caused by the same thing.
What many people call “dark circles” can actually be caused by a few different structural changes under the eye.

In many cases, the shadow is not just pigment. It can be coming from:
• protruding fat (eye bags)
• loss of deep medial cheek support
• loss of SOOF volume

And all of these are influenced by the tear trough ligament, which helps explain why the under-eye can be one of the most nuanced areas to assess and treat well.

This is exactly why the under-eye should never be approached with a one-size-fits-all treatment plan.
The anatomy matters. The diagnosis matters. And the plan should match what is actually causing the shadow.

Our newest Nurse Practitioner at KDR MedSpa + Wellness, and our first male provider

James is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in primary care and adult medicine, bringing a patient-centered approach focused on optimizing overall health and well-being. His passion lies in identifying and addressing the root causes of chronic conditions rather than simply treating symptoms.

He specializes in weight management therapies, hormone replacement therapy, microbiome optimization, personalized nutrition, and advanced treatments. James believes that every patient’s journey is unique and works collaboratively to create individualized plans aligned with each person’s goals.

His approach is rooted in helping patients feel their best, inside and out, through sustainable, personalized care.
