This is all part of unlearning rules that may have once felt necessary - and rebuilding trust with yourself.

Your needs are allowed to be simple.Your body is allowed to be uniquely your own.

What might it feel like to offer yourself that permission today?

We’re here to support you as you practice.

What if recovery isn’t just personal, but also a form of activism?

Guest writer Allyson Inez Ford, LPCC, Founder of ED & OCD Therapy, explores how eating disorders are shaped by the systems around us - and how healing can become an act of resistance.

From reclaiming your voice to challenging harmful narratives about our bodies, recovery can be both deeply individual and powerfully collective.

Healing doesn’t always look the way you expect it to.

Sometimes it feels messy. Uncomfortable. Confusing.

And still, these can be signs that something important is shifting:

• Eating past fullness
• Missing your eating disorder
• Feeling angry instead of numb
• Realizing you need more support (again)

Being out of your comfort zone means you’re feeling. It means you’re staying, and that matters.

Healing isn’t linear, but it is possible. We’re right here with you.

In this new blog from MEDA intern Karina Diaz, readers learn how under-fueling impacts athletic performance, how orthorexia, LEA, and RED-S can develop, and why proper nourishment is essential for both health and recovery.

With compassion and clarity, Karina reminds us that fueling your body shouldn't come with fear or restriction - and that strength is built through care, not control.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us for “When Eating Hurts: Navigating Disorders of the Gut–Brain Interaction in Adolescent Eating Disorder Treatment” with Jessi Haggerty, RDN.

You can now watch the recording here: https://youtu.be/JPSDSd4-woU

Together, we explored the complex intersection of eating disorders and Disorders of Gut–Brain Interaction (DGBIs) in pediatric and adolescent care, including how symptoms like pain, nausea, early satiety, and altered motility can impact diagnosis, treatment, and healing. Jessi shared thoughtful, developmentally attuned strategies for supporting both physical and psychological recovery through collaborative, compassionate care.

Thank you, Jessi, for bringing your expertise and heart to this important conversation!

We’re proud to share that MEDA’s own Ruth Elliott, LICSW, has been featured in a new Everyday Health article exploring an important and timely topic: GLP-1 drugs, Ozempic misuse, and eating disorder relapse.

As conversations around weight loss medications grow, so does the need for compassionate, informed perspectives. In this piece, Ruth highlights how these medications can intersect with eating disorder recovery - and why thoughtful screening, support, and care are essential.

We’re grateful to see MEDA’s expertise helping guide these conversations with care and clarity.
