Don't forget to register! Join us NEXT MONDAY, November 17th for a compassionate, clinician-and-community conversation exploring the realities of eating disorders in midlife and beyond. Too often overlooked, these experiences deserve understanding, visibility, and support.

This unique hybrid event—open to both professionals and the public—features author and recovery speaker Betsy Brenner. Betsy will be joined by clinician Beth Mayer, LICSW for an interactive, facilitated discussion that uplifts the voices of adults 50+ navigating recovery.

Together, we’ll explore how aging intersects with body image, identity, and health - and how healing, connection, and self-compassion are possible at any age.

In recovery, it’s okay to go slowly. To focus just on the next step in front of you.
Because healing doesn’t happen all at once—it’s built in quiet, courageous moments.

Breaking your goals into smaller pieces can make the journey feel less overwhelming—and more possible.

Every step you take toward healing is meaningful.
Every effort is worth honoring.
And you are worth celebrating, exactly as you are. Keep going.

Join us NEXT FRIDAY, November 14th from 12–1 p.m. ET for Networking with a Purpose with Center for Discovery.

This month's session, Screening for Weight Suppression, introduces a weight-inclusive approach to assessing weight suppression in both adolescents and adults. Whether you're working in higher levels of care or outpatient ED treatment, this method can offer meaningful insight and support more individualized care.

Led by Jamie Atkins-Huerta, RD, CEDS-S (she/her) and Lindsay Birchfield, MS, RD, CEDS-S (they/them), this presentation will help you:

• Understand the evolution of the weight suppression definition
• Identify key criteria for assessment
• Integrate this concept into effective treatment planning
• One CE will be provided.

The holidays can stir up a lot - food challenges, body image stress, and family dynamics. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

This November, those 18+ can join our therapist Jenna for "Nourish the Season," a 4-week virtual support group designed to help you feel grounded, connected, and supported through it all. Together, we’ll explore triggers, build coping skills, and find ways to care for ourselves with the understanding of others who truly get it.

Join us virtually on Friday, December 12th from 12-1 p.m. ET for Networking with a Purpose, "Feeling Torn: Meeting Ambivalence with Curiosity and Compassion" presented by The Renfrew Center's Director of Clinical Outreach and Education, Samantha DeCaro, PsyD.

Ambivalence is a natural part of eating disorder recovery, yet it can leave both clients and providers feeling stuck. In this talk, attendees will gain the tools needed to approach ambivalence with compassion, curiosity, and confidence. Drawing from The Renfrew Center’s Unified Treatment Model, Dr. DeCaro will share evidence-based strategies to help your clients clarify their values, find their own motivation for change, and take meaningful steps toward recovery. Through relatable examples and concrete interventions, participants will discover ways to strengthen connection, foster trust, and gently guide clients from uncertainty to clarity and action.

In this powerful and heartfelt episode, we sit down with Lisa Pearl, MS, RD, LDN, CED-S—a pioneering voice in the eating disorder field and founder of CNC360 in Lexington, MA. With over 40 years of experience as a dietitian, educator, and advocate, Lisa shares her journey from being one of the only clinicians challenging diet culture in the 1980s to building a thriving, values-aligned team committed to inclusive, weight-neutral care.

This conversation is a must-listen for anyone doing this work—whether you're just starting out or decades in. Lisa brings both wisdom and vulnerability as she reflects on:
What it meant to speak out against diet culture before it was mainstream
How community has evolved—from isolation to interdependence
The toll of burnout and the systemic challenges that make ethical care so difficult
Ageism in the field—and why we need seasoned voices..and much more!

Lisa’s voice is one of clarity, courage, and deep care. Tune in and be reminded why this work matters—because full recovery is possible, and every provider has a role to play in creating systems of true healing.

This Halloween, don’t let diet culture haunt your joy.

It’s okay to eat the candy. It’s okay to enjoy your favorite treats. You don’t need to “earn” them, “make up” for them, or feel guilty about them. Food is not a trick - it’s a part of life’s celebrations, traditions, and simple pleasures. Tell us in the comments - what's your favorite candy?!
